Hopscotch Day Nursery Botley

The level of detail we receive about our kid’s day is exceptional, and the activities they get up to are enjoyable, engaging and creative. Our little girl is very cheerful. Thank you. Our little girl is so cheerful to go in in the mornings, she reaches her arms out to her key worker and has such a smile on her face.

my daughter has a fantastic time there and has been a part of the “family” since she was 11 months old. Her recent move up to Toddlers was hard for her as she had bonded so well in Waddlers but once she settled in she has developed in leaps and bounds (quite literally since she learnt to jump!) Thank you team! The team at Hopscotch Day Childcare centre Botley have been overwhelmingly terrific.

The team provided lots of tips and assistance towards our family in helping her to settle and were consistently so welcoming, approachable and compassionate. When we have had minor concerns, these have been dealt with quickly and robustly. Our daughter loves going to school now and speaks so highly of everyone there. The team seem to really know her and give her so much affection and warmth; she tells us regularly how much she loves them all (but particularly her key worker, who she has a real soft spot for). We can already see such a difference in her self‑assurance and resilience from just a few months of attending Hopscotch and we are so grateful. Our daughter was really reluctant to attend pre-school when she first started in June of this year.

Some team are very nice. My granddaughter has had lovely key workers although these have changed every few months.
Recently some of the rooms have been combined and I am confused as to why this was seen to be a great idea.
The food/meals provided are varied and seem nutritious.
My main criticism is the hourly service charge added to those who qualify for funding. Those who qualify are often very very hard up, which is why they qualify for funded childcare so that they can work. Some places waiver the service charge depending on individual circumstances but Hopscotch won’t. Hopscotch is a great Childcare centre with lovely outstanding outdoor playtime areas and garden.

It was such a lovely relaxed atmosphere and we enjoyed seeing what our little girl gets up to whilst at childcare centre. The team are so approachable and accommodating. Our eldest came with us and enjoyed spending time with her preschool friend too! We attended a Stay and Playtime in the baby room at the weekend.

Its a excellent childcare centre. The team are exceptional with lots of the people who looked after my daughter back in 2018 now looking after my son which is lovely. The setting is enjoyable and welcoming. The outdoor space is remarkable. Both of my kids have eaten really well there and enjoyed the food. In my journey the childcare centre is very well managed, the phone is consistently answered and emails responded to. Very cheerful with mine and my kids’s journey so far. My daughter attended Hopscotch and my son has recently started there.

Overall our journey has been great, however, I sense in recent months it has gone downhill, and sense we are not communicated to enough with what is going on in the childcare centre and team changes especially as we are not allowed in the building.

My daughter loves attending and even announced that she had had ‘A remarkable day today!’ when she was collected. She has built outstanding relationships with her key workers and talks enthusiastically about what she has done at childcare centre.
As parents, we have consistently felt very well informed and the childcare centre is managed really well. The adults know our daughter and value her as an individual. She is secure, cheerful, well cared for and stimulated. A fantastic childcare centre which I couldn’t suggest highly enough.

We (my wife and I) went for a ‘Stay and Playtime’ on Saturday the 22nd of July this further evidenced how well my kid is supported and cared for. Very cheerful thank you. My kid has been with Hopscotch since June 2023 and we have seen significant developments in him in that time.

We recently received notice of a 3rd increase in 6 months! Justification centres around service charges (less monies being receivable for gov funded hours due to changes announced in the budget), changes are unreasonable and extortionate (increases more than 3 x inflation). Transparency and reasoning of fees and the updates of changes lack any credibility.
On the first fee increase, opening hours were reduced, effectively rendering it an even higher increase relative to hours. Massively disrupting for my family.
Previous instances where charged fees when the setting was closed (through their closure, with notice given the previous evening at 8pm), leadership citing nonsensical “internal” policies.
A lovely setting, with excellent team, ruined by the treatment of its customers, extortionate and regular fee increases. Positive – The setting, team are outstanding, location is great for drop-off.
Negative – Leadership, regularly sent politized and unprofessional emails to justify fee increases.
