Hillside Childcare - Whitwood

My child has been at Hillside Private Day Nursery – Whitwood since March 2021, starting in the baby room. It was a difficult start due to Covid and not being able to take him in and look around, but all the staff were so reassuring and I always felt he was in safe hands.
My son has additional needs and I have been blown away with how his key workers and management have adjusted anything and everything he needs to make things easier and more settling for him. The manager has been incredible with assisting with my son’s Mysupport plan and EHCP (education, health and care plan) and just makes things so much easier during a challenging phase for us. We don’t ever want him to leave! It’s his happy place after home which means the world to us! Thank you for everything you have done and continue to do for him and us!

Fantastic nursery and brilliant staff, my son went to Hillside Private Day Nursery – Whitwood and the improvement in his social skills and overall learning was superb. My daughter now attends and I feel confident in her adapting in her learning and social skills. Hillside at Whitwood are relocating just down the road. I viewed this yesterday and it is breathtaking! I can’t wait to see my daughter adapt to the stunning new location.

Hillside Private Day Nursery – Whitwood as a whole is a fantastic nursery and I would recommend it to anyone.
The staff throughout baby room, play room and pre-school have always been great with my little girl. She has always been taken care of and had her needs met. She has had fun and the updates we get show how well she has done at the setting.
The space and facilities the nursery have are good and they have themes throughout the year depending on the time of the year which is lovely.
When it is my little girl’s turn to leave Hillside I will be gutted and no doubt she will be. The staff care and this shines through the bonds created with the children.

My son has been at Hillside since he was 11 months old and in the baby room. He has come on so much since he started at Hillside. The staff in the baby room were so caring and tentative with him they gave him the best start and me the piece of mind that he was safe and happy whilst I’m at work. Now he has moved to the playroom, they are great at creating child led activities that cater to the children’s interests and help them build great relationships. He always looks forward to nursery and loves telling us about everything he has done each day. Thank you to all the staff for your hard work! We can’t wait to move to the new building and see how he thrives even more.

Since my son started in September, the nursery has encouraged him to develop in all areas, and they don’t only just work with the children, they’re great at working with the parents as well. The team and setting overall are amazing, my first child when to Hillside Private Day Nursery and now my second child is attending there and I wouldn’t have him in another setting, they are great.

My daughter always comes out with a big smile on her face. Since she started she has made so much progress in all areas and educators are always looking at ways to continue with her development in individual areas she needs. Educators are so very caring and nurturing, especially when my daughter needs a cuddle when being dropped off. The app that nursery use is really useful, all assessments are sent on here and I regularly get an insight to what my daughter is doing with photos. Staff are always happy to chat about their day when collecting and nothing ever seems too much of an ask.
The new space and facilities at the new setting are so lovely, open and warm. I can wait for my daughter to transition over, I know she will love it.

My daughter has been in the nursery for just over two months now and has settled in wonderfully. I can’t thank the staff enough for how amazing they have been with helping my little girl to settle in at only 8 months old and being a first time mum I wasn’t sure how she would be but I couldn’t have asked for anything more. Her educators provide many amazing learning opportunities for her, I know she is well cared for and they are always there to offer support or give useful advice. When I drop my daughter off in the morning, I can see how much she adores the staff and even gets upset when it’s time to go home! Thank you for making my little girl feel so settled and making us as first time parents feel so at ease.

My daughter started at Hillside Childcare – Whitwood just after her first birthday. She loves going to nursery and only took a few weeks to settle. She has some allergies and I feel confident the nursery takes these seriously and keeps me updated in any cases of reactions and try and pin point what could have caused something.

My son is almost three and has been going to Whitwood since he was 11 months old, and he’s loved it from day one and has made lots of lovely connections with the staff. They look after him and care for him, which makes us as parents more than happy to send him there. He has learned so much in his time there and can’t wait for more.

This is an outstanding nursery in a lovely purpose-designed building. The nursery nurses are all very loving and caring, making the extra effort to build relationships with the children. My daughter has gone since she was a year old during Covid, so has been in the baby room, playroom and now in the preschool room. I have never had any problems and have always had an immediate response from the management team if I have ever needed anything.
