My son has been going to Belsize since he was 9-months, and he loves it. The staff are friendly, supportive and are always there to listen. There is an amazing outdoor area for each age group with a variety of activities indoors and outdoors. My son has always had a great relationship with the staff, even when moving age groups. My son was recently toilet training, and the staff were amazing working together with me to ensure we were both doing the same thing. The rooms are bright and open with lots of different areas. I always know my son will be safe and well looked after by the staff, they have great relationships with the children, would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a nursery for their wee ones.

This a very good nursery. They are very kind and caring towards all the children and have been absolutely fantastic while my son was getting allergy tests done which eventually turned out to be a gluten intolerance and the nursery were very accommodating and extremely helpful with all of this. My son loves going there.

My son has been here for over a year now, and his development since starting here is fantastic! He is always so excited to go to nursery, he has a great bond with the staff also. I feel comfortable with him being here, always get a good input of how his day has been and what he’s been up to. Excellent nursery – all-round would recommend!

It is not just the high standards that are achieved in the running of the nursery but the way it is done. The devotion and care shown to all children by all staff is evident and it is reflected in our son’s obvious happiness to be there and his development over the years within such a nurturing and safe environment.

Oranges and Lemons Belsize House is a wonderful nursery! They were able to give us a place for our daughter really quickly after reopening after lockdown, and she had no problems settling in thanks to the lovely staff. She adores going to nursery and barely gives me a ‘bye, mummy’ before running through the doors in the morning. She’s always full of stories and songs from her day and looks forward to going back to see her friends and staff. Thank you to all the staff for your hard work and especially for keeping all the children safe and happy during Covid!

I can’t recommend this nursery enough to anyone that is looking for childcare. My daughter had a very difficult time settling into nursery due to separation anxiety. The staff went above and beyond anything I could have hoped for to help her settle. Now thanks to all of the hard work of each member of staff, my daughter loves going to nursery and speaks about staff members and nursery with such joy and excitement. One of the best decisions my husband and I have made was picking this nursery. I have no doubt that every need is met and her days spent there are full of fun and making great memories.

My child started here back in 2018, being a very shy 2-years-old and stuck to my hip. He settled in really quickly, starting in the 2,3 years group was exactly what he needed, to be around children his age, and blending and learning. Also, he was no longer was shy and adapted to his 5-days at nursery, where every day a new story to be told, his apatite came along great, his speaking also, moving forward and he is now in preschool and is still there on a 5-day basis. He gets along perfectly with the other children and staff, new and old. When he moves up to school next year, we will be extremely saddened due to the staff being like part of our family; they always ask how we are, are a listening ear when needed, nothing is too much bother for them. It truly is like 1 big family, and I feel good knowing I leave my child here, he is safe, well looked after, came on so very much, and that’s thanks to the staff.

The best nursery you can ask for. All staff are very friendly and kind. Always have the time to answer all your questions. Every day my daughter is very happy that she is a part of this nursery. Everything is well organised. The children participate in many different activities inside and outside. They never seem bored.

My son has been at Oranges and Lemons Belsize for a year, and I cannot thank them enough for the work they do. I have noticed such a difference in my son. He gets so excited to go in the mornings and is so happy to come home and tell me about his day, his friends and the “big cuddles” he gets from staff.
They have especially nurtured his interest in music and instruments!
I can go to work happy in the knowledge my son is stimulated, having fun and most importantly looked after by the caring staff.

Lovely nursery. My wee boy has been here for over a year now and at first, he would cry when I left him now he gets excited and tries to open the door to get in himself. He is happy at this nursery and the staff are great, and I have never had any issues.

My son started this nursery when he was only 9 months old and is now coming up for 3 years old. Despite his long attendance, I am continuously amazed at the level of care each of the staff give to make sure he is getting the most out of his time there. They have tirelessly supported us with special dietary requirements, potty training, speech development and many more things over the years. I recommend this nursery constantly to anyone who asks as I’m so happy with how my son has grown and developed – he wouldn’t be the same boy with them.

My daughter recently transferred to this nursery from another nursery due to the coranavirus pandemic. This was her third move in a year and as such we were very apprehensive about how she would get on but she has settled in amazingly and it’s all due to the staff. The manager was so helpful and you can tell she, along with her team, just want the best for the children. The staff couldn’t be any more helpful if they tried including setting up a chat for myself and my partner to see how our daughter gets on daily and providing us with learning logs to see how our daughter is progressing, which her key worker regularly updates in her free time away from the nursery. You get a sense that it isn’t just a job for the staff and they take a real interest in each child and we have been very impressed with the nursery so far. I would just like to say a massive thanks from me and my partner for getting our daughter to settle in so well and showing the care and attention you do.

It is very sad that I had to move my son to another place after four years just for 1.5 months before him starting P1 due to my serious concerns about his safety and wellbeing. He was coming home almost every day with an accident on his head and sometimes a couple of accidents on the same day. The staff were asking the parents if we wanted the accident forms for the accidents that happened. So, most of the accidents were not recorded. I have witnessed a few times that the children were left without supervision (totally alone) for short periods. There was not much stimulation and my son was saying “the nursery is so boring”. All old and core staff were resigned in 6-8 months in 2021. The staff turnover is quite high. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the staff should not move between the rooms but due to the lack of staff, they have to move. Higher management (above the nursery manager) does not even reply to your complaint e-mails. It is shame as it was an outstanding nursery before 2021 though.

Our son has been at Happitots Nursery Broughty Ferry for approximately 12 months following the closure of his nursery within the same group. Despite all of the challenges the nursery has faced due to the pandemic the staff have continued to provide a high standard of care and our son has come on so much in his development. I can not fault the care he has received. There’s always something going on at the nursery and fun days for the kids to get involved in.
The menus are changed regularly and the staff always ask for feedback on proposed menu changes ahead of them being implemented.

My son has been going for many months now and has recently started going 4.5 days a week rather than 1 day and he always has fun, tries new foods and activities and always has a wee story to tell about what he was up to.

My child has been attending Happitots Nursery Broughty Ferry for almost a year. He has a dairy intolerance and I have been very impressed with how the staff have dealt with this and ensured there are always dairy-free options for him. He has recently moved from the 0-2 room to the 2-3 room and I cannot fault the staff for supporting him with his move. I was kept informed of the plans and how he was doing and they carried our visits to the big room at his pace so that my son only visited/moved when he was ready to. As a result, my son has gone through to the bigger room with no issues and he is enjoying exploring somewhere new.
The staff are all very friendly and go out of their way to welcome my wee boy when he arrives and make us feel at ease.

Our little boy who is nearly two has been going to the nursery 2 half days a week since he was 10 months old and I went back to work after maternity finished. We can’t fault the staff, they take good care of him and he always comes home happy and tired so we know he has had a good time. I love the variaty of food he gets as the menu is changed week by week. They also provide daily updates on his nappy changes, food and special moments through the parentzone app which is fantastic. It makes us feel we don’t miss out on those special moments. Even during the pandemic the care he has received being a late walker they have helped him so much encouraging him and his speech is brilliant too. Well done team Broughty Ferry.

The environment is so conducive for learning and my child enjoys going there and talks about the great things they do, including yoga which she enjoys. It’s so funny how she’s now the yoga instructor at home. They are so quick to pick out my child’s interest and work accordingly while introducing other activities gradually. The staffs are really friendly too and you get an everyday update on your child’s well-being. Really glad we picked this nursery.

My son has attended this nursery for nearly 3 years now. In the last year there has been a lot of staff changes and the nursery was bought over. He did not take this very well at the time but has really settled back in since the staff changes have settled down. All the staff are very helpful and always pass over any concerns. If you have a concern there is always someone to help, I have found this even when it’s out of office hours. The last few months I’ve noticed lots of changes to try and get the parents involved with seeing what our children are doing while being supported, even letting us know the menus and letting the staff know what we think. It’s good to see that the staff are trying to get us involved to be part of their children’s experiences, especially when Covid is still about and we are not permitted in the building. The app they use is better than the paper slip we used to get as you can see pictures of what our children have been doing.

My son went to this nursery between March and December 2021, after we relocated to Dundee. Sadly I had to move him to another nursery as I found the care and support from staff inadequate. The high staff turnover didn’t help, they didn’t know the children on a personal level to give them the support needed. My son’s behavior issues were put down to him being disruptive and naughty. He was in fact needing the right attention and support following his parent’s separation. I vocalised my concerns numerous times, but staff including management kept changing and I’d have to explain our situation over and over, and no real action (other than making a “plan”) was taken. Since moving to a different nursery, having consistency in his care and the right support, he is thriving; his behaviour has completely taken a u-turn. Happitots may have been a good nursery before but it’s standards have become very very poor in my opinion, and I’m so glad I went with my gut instinct and moved him when I did.
