First Steps Day Nursery

Our eldest child is about to leave after four happy years here. I cannot fault the staff at all. They have all been like an extension of our family to him. Nurturing and building his confidence. More recently our second son has started in the baby room and settled so well we couldn’t be happier. The nursery has such a wonderful country location and outdoor space a big factor for our original choice!

I would highly recommend First Steps Day Nursery, both my girls went from an early age and both were so happy there. The staff are so friendly and brilliant at what they do, we found it was very much home from home.
We were always kept informed on what the girls had been doing each day and if ever there were any worries we always had full support from the staff.

My daughter has been attending for the last year and she has loved every minute of it. The staff have been incredible when talking to them as a client and a mother.
Especially in light of Covid, they have really shown their professionalism, dedication and care for everyone that is involved with the First Steps family.
I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a team of compassionate superheroes!

Both my daughters were very happy with the First Step Nursery. Currently just one still going and for sure my son will be next. Great, friendly staff and always helpful. Lot’s of fun, activities and crafts. Highly recommended!

First Step Nursery has been the best choice for our two (not so little now) children. They both attended since the age of 12-months and both love it!
Right from the beginning, the team show that they care. They ensure the little one has settling in sessions. Every ‘term’ they ask for an up-to-date ‘all about me’ so that they understand where your child may need help in or tell them your child strengths/likes/dislikes are.
The management team listen to any concerns you have, and you can trust that your child is being looked after as if they were your own.
Both my children have learnt so much – to be independent, sociable and confident, which helped them to be ‘school ready’.
My oldest attends holiday club, and they do trips out – taking advantage of the local facilities.
Honestly can’t praise the staff or management team enough, especially during the COVID-19 situation, where I had to rely on them for help in the end, and they were so understanding.
I would highly recommend!

My daughter attends the nursery and has done ever since she was three. She moved up from the toddler room to little steps to now big steps. She has loved every minute of being there and was over the moon when I said she would be going back to nursery after this virus has passed. All the staff are wonderful! But especially the managers are helpful and reply back to emails as soon as they can. Overall, a great nursery, and I am happy to leave my daughter there and feel like I don’t have to worry.

We would thoroughly recommend First Steps to all. Our son has attended from a baby through to leaving for school. If you want swanky facilities and tech then it probably isn’t for you, but what it offers is excellent staff (with great continuity), a nurturing family atmosphere and lots of outdoor time in the local countryside. It’s all about personal relationships at First Steps and every day for 3 years we got meaningful firsthand feedback from staff on how our son had spent his day and we always knew that he was loved whilst there.

Both of our children have been to First Steps and the care that they have received has been excellent. From the first day to the last all the staff have been friendly and welcoming. Our eldest started First Steps at the age of 8-months and left just before starting primary school. Then our youngest started at 6-months-old and has just left ready to start primary school. We will miss not dropping off the children and wish the nursery every success in the future.

I have nothing but praise for First Steps, my son loves going there. Seeing picture updates and assessments reassured me that he is having a great time. When they could, (Covid stopped this) they gave amazing feedback on his day when I collected him (now done over the phone). No matter who met me at the door, they knew exactly what he’d been up to. I never felt rushed or fobbed off when I asked questions. His key worker often made me feel like he was the only child she’d worked with that day. The artwork that comes home with him is super special and it’s great to have things like that to keep and treasure, so we feel lucky they are so good at that. I feel very confident that they are taking the safety of the children very seriously when it comes to covid and feel very happy sending him in.

Both of our children have attended First Steps since just before their first birthdays and they love it. I don’t want their time there to finish. Our 3-year-old attends the pre-school room (with wrap around hours) and our 5-year-old attends breakfast clubs and holiday clubs. The staff are the perfect level of professional and caring. They have fun and aren’t afraid to be silly with the kids. They are so supportive of ‘tricky’ stages, toilet training and bottom wiping training. And very importantly for me as a mummy, they are never short on time to chat with you and fill you in on what your little monkeys have been up to. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend First Steps to anyone.

Excellent nursery over every aspect. My son started when he was only 7 months old and the nursery staff has been incredibly supportive in the settling process.
He is now 2 years old and he loves going to First Steps Nursery. During these challenging times over the Covid 19 pandemic the nursery’s management was great in guaranteeing the safety and wellbeing of our children.

Nursery have been fantastic. I was very nervous about little one starting nursery let alone during the middle of a pandemic. From the very first visit with the staff and learning about the nursery ways made us feel so at ease. Settling in days were tearful to start with which we understood. It only took a couple of weeks for little one to settle in and the staff were great the whole time. She has become such a confident little girl now and loves all the activities they do; every day she comes home she’s so excited and tells me what she’s been doing. The daily report charts are great too to see how much she’s eaten and how long they’ve had their naps. It’s such a relief knowing while we are working that she is being looked after with such great care and the team they are always happy and smiling.

My son has been attending First Steps since he was 3 months old, I had to return back to work shortly after having him and was very nervous about leaving him. I highly recommend First Steps and all the staff, their support and love for what they do is amazing, we looked at a few nurseries and found this one to be a cut above the rest. It’s welcoming, homely and everything I’d want for my son growing up. The range of activities they do with the children inside and outside keeps little ones occupied for hours. Their daily sheets help us see what they have been up to, eaten and slept which is very helpful. During the current climate, the girls are still so upbeat and happy and my child loves it there. We have recently moved out of the area but still choose to drive the extra 30-mile round trip to take him every day before work as I couldn’t imagine him anywhere else. So, a massive thank you to you all for helping Baby learn and grow, you’re doing an amazing job keep up the good work.

My little one has been at First Steps for just over a year now and is thriving! The baby room was so lovely and despite everything that happened in 2020 she settled right back in after the first lockdown. The girls in the baby room are so good with the little ones giving them the comfort they need as well as providing them with lots of fun! Now my little one has moved up to the toddler room and is again having the best time. The outdoor space they have to explore is fab and she comes home every day with more and more new words and experiences!

Wonderful nursery with amazing, experienced and caring staff. They provide a fantastic service encouraging the children’s development in lots of fun ways. Our son loves going in each day, and as parents, we love hearing all the different experiences he has from day to day.

First Steps is a wonderful nursery. My daughter has been attending since before she was a year old and will be turning four in October. The communication from staff, managers and the owns is always very transparent. We love seeing photos of our daughter regularly on their social media platforms and all children are always happy and engaged in meaningful activity. All staff have the children’s best interests at heart and my daughter absolutely loves attending First Steps. They have always been fantastic with my daughter’s allergies and ensure everything she eats and plays with is safe for her. I would highly recommend them to anyone I know.

We are very pleased with the level of care our children have received. All the staff have been fantastic, caring and friendly. Both my girls warmed very quickly here and go skipping in on their nursery days. I have full confidence in them when I leave. A great learning environment.

Wonderful nursery on the Wexham Park Hospital site, the staff are knowledgeable, kind and I really feel like they take the time to get to know my daughter.
When we’ve made requests, these have been handled positively and we’ve always been able to talk things through with someone on site.
Largely used by NHS staff on site, they are aware of the specific difficulties faced by the parents and have always been very supportive.

My little boy was at First Steps for a year and developed so much. First steps prepared him for school which made the transition easy for him. The staff are very kind and professional, always there to give any information or answer questions have. I feel very satisfied and happy bringing both of my children to this nursery. I leave always satisfied and without worry, as I know my children will be well taken care of while they’re with the staff at the nursery. I’m thankful that I chose this nursery for my children.

What a lovely little nursery First Steps Maxey is. Both my boys have attended and loved it. With its rural setting, the children get to go out on walks and visit the local park, as well as a whole host of craft and educational activities. My oldest is now 11 and I feel it’s a real credit to the nursery that some of the original staff are still there now with my youngest 8 years later! The staff are all very friendly and well loved by the children. There are routines in place and the children seem to thrive because of this. It’s a big thumbs up from me.

Our daughter loved her time at First Steps. The staff are always kind, compassionate and fun! We loved that they got them outside for village walks. She misses First Steps now she’s at school! We have so many keepsakes that she came home with that she had made at the nursery.
