Culverdene Day Nursery

My daughter spent two happy years at Culverdene Day Nursery. During this time, she has made some great friends and developed positive relationships with the staff team. Culverdene is a warm and welcoming environment and the team are professional, supportive and caring. I’d 100% recommend this nursery.

Culverdene has been absolutely fantastic for my son who has attended for the past two and a half years. They are a small, friendly nursery with a real family feel. The staff are excellent and low turnover means he knows them all really well, it’s lovely now to see him chat with his old baby room key worker, who helped him learn to talk! The nursery is always really helpful and responds very quickly to any requests, the manager is great and she knows all the children really well. Regular Tapestry app updates have been really reassuring, especially in those nervous early days when we would be wondering how he was getting on and, more recently, to see how he is developing as we countdown to school next year. We have always felt he is safe and well cared for, and they have dealt with the challenge of Covid brilliantly. The food is really good and healthy, our son is much less fussy there than at home! We really love Culverdene and would recommend it wholeheartedly.

On choosing Culverdene Nursery we knew immediately this was the one. My husband had been anxious about using a nursery, but one visit to Culverdene and he was won. We appreciate the family feel of the nursery and our son loves to go and will often speak of his key worker and the other children at home. They work really hard to settle your child in and take note of any interests they are expressing and encourage play and learning through these. More recently, in the run-up to our son becoming a big brother the nursery staff played a key role in helping prepare him for what life with a baby may be like. He’s grown in his confidence whilst at nursery and we are loving the social interaction he is able to enjoy as he attends. I would highly recommend Culverdene and we look forward to sending our daughter there in time.

We were recommended this nursery for our son 6 years ago and it was the best decision we made. He had 4 happy years with the nursery and made some great friends. He is now achieving well at school and this is due to the excellent foundations laid at Culverdene. When we had our daughter we had no hesitations as to where we would send her. She is now settling back in after her extended time off due to the current situation and the staff have been fantastic. The management team are excellent and very professional. The communication is great and we always feel we are kept well informed. We have recommended the nursery to friends and family and will continue to do so.

I cannot recommend this nursery more. The minute we visited we had a good feeling as it feels like a home from home, is clean and comfortable, well organised, lovely outdoor play space and spacious but still cosy rooms. It has just the right amount of children in each setting to make it feel small but sociable. They have been very supportive throughout the last 2 years particularly as I have been through 2 more pregnancies and always ask if I need help getting the kids to the car. My children love being at this nursery and as you can see from their Facebook they do such a huge variety of tasks which they are always excited to tell me about. In particular, my kids won’t stop talking about a key person in the baby room and run to her every morning for a cuddle! Turnover of staff is low, hours are good if you are a medic! And they have a good staff age range. I really feel so comfortable dropping my children off every day and knowing that they have a great time and are really well looked after.

I would highly recommend Culverdene Nursery for any parent looking for a safe, happy and professional environment for their child. My daughter has flourished during her years at Culverdene. The staff have been amazing and I don’t have a single negative, the online private platform of daily written and photographed updates on what your child has been doing that day is a lovely touch. My daughter’s confidence and skills developed so much and I will honestly be sad to see her leave and go to school but I feel that attending here has made her more than ready.

Lovely nursery setting in a period building with friendly, approachable staff. Coped well with pressures relating to the Covid pandemic over the last 18-months. Good range of activities/resources. Setting is clean but in need of updating in some areas but expected due to age of the building.
