September 6, 2024 at 10:31 amOur toddler has been coming here for nearly a year now and I can’t fault the service Claylands Nursery gives.
It’s excellent receiving updates and pictures of what our little one’s up to during the day. We chose Claylands as they focus on their outdoor playtime which was important to us.
We sense totally at ease knowing they are secure in great hands and genuinely cheerful at childcare centre. Great team of team that are really well‑informed and accommodating.

September 8, 2024 at 9:39 amShe has been there for almost a year and is consistently coming home saying and singing new things she has learned there. They have a excellent outdoor area for playing! Our little girl absolutely loves Claylands Nursery and all the team there.

November 11, 2024 at 4:04 pmThey both have ASD and significant additional assistance needs. Finding a mainstream childcare centre that would accept them was a complete nightmare, particularly because they both need free flow playtime and won’t engage with structured games. The childcare centre has been a perfect fit for them – not only do the kids have continuous access to go outside and playtime in the enormous outdoor area but the team have also been outstanding. I can’t put into words how fantastic the team have been with the boys. They are so compassionate and patient with them and have let the boys just join in and be treated the same as all the other kids. I know that most people reading these reviews will be looking at them from the perspective of parents of kids who do not have additional assistance needs but I wanted to flag up to any parents who have been struggling to find an exceptional, mainstream childcare centre, this is it! My two boys both attend Claylands Nursery and it has been an absolutely fantastic place for them.

December 7, 2024 at 11:27 pmThe pre school room is organised and creates a enjoyable atmosphere for the kids. Both our boys attend Claylands Nursery and thoroughly delight in the outdoor space, especially the chance to explore the large grounds.

December 23, 2024 at 6:10 amIt’s the exact setting we want for her, being outside in the fresh air as often as possible. A mixture of outdoor playtime and experiences, excellent rooms and facilities for each age group and lovely team. Our daughter has come on so much since attending, she is exposed to discovering and social experiences we would not be able to provide her at home. The team provide feedback and pictures of activities which is important as a parent. It’s consistently interesting to hear and see what the kids have been getting up to each day.
The childcare centre offers fresh food cooked each day on-site and cater for all dietary needs. Our daughter consistently comes home well-fed and cheerful. We are really pleased our daughter can attend this childcare centre.

February 9, 2025 at 2:06 amWe wanted lots of outdoor space and like that the place is on our route but still secluded. There is a big focus on discovering but in a kid-welcoming way that really suited our wee one as things are not too regimented and they are given enough room to be their own person. I would say that you really need to drive to be able to easily get here every day. We live in West Lothian but made the short detour on the commute into Edinburgh to go here.

February 14, 2025 at 11:48 pmThe outdoor space is definitely their ‘wow factor’ and it made the childcare centre worth every penny. I thought it would be a spring/summer feature, but they really try to use it all year round. And let’s not forget how beneficial it must be for the team as well. Aside from that highlight, everything else seemed perfect – settling in, nap times, health precautions (appropriate outdoor wear, sun cream etc.), even paperwork/billing was easy and efficient – so I’m struggling to think of any room for improvement. Even my expectation that we’d see team come and go quite frequently didn’t happen. Pretty much everyone there now has been there since our boy’s first day, consistently with a smile on their face, and that continuity is so important for the kids. If I think of any negatives, I’ll let the childcare centre know, but for now it’s a 5 star review. Claylands Nursery was the third childcare centre we’ve experienced and the best by far.

February 22, 2025 at 5:22 amEveryone was excellent at helping her settle in and all the team know her really well. We are consistently kept well informed about what she has been doing, both verbally and through an online discovering journal. It’s excellent to see photos of what she has been doing all day. A lot of effort is put into theme weeks to keep everyone entertained. The outdoor space is remarkable for playtime and our daughter loves the food there. Our daughter loves going to childcare centre here.

March 19, 2025 at 4:50 pmI’ve really seen my little girl thrive here and all the team are welcoming and approachable. I echo the feedback that they are allowed to be their own person but still engage in the same activities and this has worked very well for us.
The only issue can be the single road in and out of the childcare centre which can also make parking difficult at busier pick up and drop off times.
Overall, the outdoor facilities are perfect for the kids and are the main reason we chose Claylands Nursery. The childcare centre is fortunate to benefit from a lot of outdoor space and operates well being within an old steading.

April 30, 2025 at 4:20 amShe loves it and is consistently really excited to attend. After a full day of running around in the huge garden space she’s consistently cheerful and knackered with a suitably mucky face, just the way she should be!
Her educators are all lovely. Everyone is consistently smiling and gives me absolute peace of mind about the quality of care she is receiving. We’re really glad we chose this childcare centre and will be sending our next kid there. My daughter has been going for a year now from the age of 2.

June 13, 2025 at 7:11 pmFrom the moment he started, the team have been fantastic with him which definitely helped with the settling process. He has developed so much with speech and other skills. The outside space is incredible and it’s lovely watching him develop friendships with the other kids.
He is treated like an individual and the childcare centre really focus on his likes and dislikes. The team are available to answer questions and help with areas of development and behaviour. Our son has been at Claylands Nursery since he was 10-months-old.

June 19, 2025 at 2:21 amThis is without a doubt down to the lovely hard working and attentive team who have created a lovely bond with them, making every day an adventure with new activities that are both enjoyable and educational. The childcare centre grounds are delightful, a little haven surrounded by lovely gardens which are definitely a favourite with our boys who adore outdoor activities and playtime. The childcare centre has surpassed all our expectations and more it’s such a lovely feeling when our boys come home filled with all the excitement and stories of their day at childcare centre and relief as a parent knowing that our kids are with such lovely people having enjoyable, creating memories. The team are a real credit to their profession and as parents, we adore reading and seeing updates from our boy’s discovering journals, this is such a lovely touch and fills us with joy. Our twin boys started at Claylands Nursery in January 2023 and within a month have settled in and adjusted making lots of new friends wonderfully well.
