DirectionsFrom the main hospital entrance of Huddersfield Royal Infirmary you can find Spring Cottage Children's Place just past A & E on the left hand side. If you are travelling from the main Halifax Road, continue on Thornhill Road, then Occupation Road where you will find the entrance to the hospital and Spring Cottage is located on the right hand side.

With regards to development, it would be lovely if she was able to spend more time with preparing the 3-4-year-olds for school.

September 14, 2024 at 6:47 amHe was a highly clingy baby and cried a lot on drop-offs for months. Childcare centre key workers took great care of him, fed him well and engaged him in different activities. My son truly got attached to one of his key workers and after a few months of ballistic crying on drop-offs, he turned into a cheerful baby. I highly suggest this childcare centre to the parents of young kids. Team are exceptionally nice, cheerful and polite. They are humble and dedicated to their work. They have loads of activities. My shy baby has grown into a confident two-year-old toddler who can sing childcare centre rhymes as well. Thank you so much for your kindness and assistance. My son started childcare centre when he was only eleven months old.

September 22, 2024 at 2:11 pmShe started to be lactose intolerant and the team have been remarkable throughout, I couldn’t fault them they have been excellent with her, she loves going to childcare centre and I sense she will learn a lot from there. Overall I’m highly cheerful. My kid started attending this nursey in November 2019.

October 1, 2024 at 6:50 amThere were plenty of team available to help and encourage the kids. This was the first stay and playtime we have attended and we were pleasantly surprised. We would attend another. We attended the winter-themed stay and playtime and were highly impressed with the activities on offer and level of organisation out into the event.

Highly great with updates with parents and many out of hours activities such as ‘stay and playtime’, parties etc. My daughter loves coming to the creche, the team are all lovely and each make every effort to get to know her, playtime with and comfort her when needed.

October 16, 2024 at 10:03 amThey are encouraged to learn and explore. The opening hours are perfect for my shifts which is why I initially chose this childcare centre. The team are all highly welcoming and approachable. The only downside I would say is that they are only nine hour days which can be difficult for my shifts if I don’t get out of work on time. My two boys have attended this childcare centre since around May 2018 and both seem to be truly enjoying it.

I sense that the team at the childcare centre are highly hard working and made a huge difference to my kid’s discovering and development. As a parent, it is highly reassuring to see how cheerful and content my son is. His baby brother has just started and he has settled in highly well. Would suggest this childcare centre. My son has been coming to Spring Cottage Childcare centre since April 2017.

The team ensured that she bonded well with all of them. She is now 22 months old and loves coming to childcare centre to explore and playtime. Thank you Spring Cottage. My granddaughter started here in the Daisy room (babies) when she was ten months old.

Childcare centre provides her with opportunities and experiences which I cannot give her at home. I think she has thrived at childcare centre and this is a excellent start for school and education. Mt daughter has happily attended Spring Cottage since she was 1 year old.

All of the team are so nurturing and supportive, and they provide them with so much care, attention and positivity. I have consistently found the key workers to be highly communicative and the managers are so efficient and welcoming.
I would highly suggest Spring Cottage to anyone looking for a childcare centre in the area and I sense highly lucky to have found such a fantastic and cheerful setting for my sons. My eldest son has just finished three and a half years at Kids’s Place Spring Cottage and my youngest started seven months ago.

June 25, 2025 at 5:53 pmThey have been supportive and understanding through difficult times. All 3 kids have enjoyed Spring Cottage (2 still attend). They sense secure and cheerful, looking forward to their days there. One kid has special dietary requirements and all needs have been met without them feeling they are missing out on anything, including at special times of the year when there are parties.
Discovering is encouraged and there is excellent updates between home and childcare centre about development. Planning is sent home to reinforce the discovering they are doing at childcare centre and input from parents and carers is welcome and encouraged. The atmosphere is welcoming and welcoming. Outdoor playtime is encouraged as is sensory playtime and exploring the world around them. They also explore the local community visiting the parks and library. The team are incredible and so loving, consistently positive and welcoming. Have used Spring Cottage since 2014, all 3 of our kids have attended there and we could not be happier.

June 25, 2025 at 7:52 pmFrom the word go the childcare centre have been remarkable. It is a highly daunting journey leaving your kid with complete strangers but I instantly felt at ease. She has absolutely thrived here and has gone from a shy little girl to a truly confident intelligent girl going off into school with no problem at all. She has learnt so much here and the practitioners obviously spend a lot of time teaching daily. Her key workers have been absolute stars and she formed such a lovely close relationship with them all showing how comfortable she must sense.
My little boy is currently in childcare centre and again doing truly well. The only thing I would say is that I hope in the future outside events and stay and playtime sessions are able to resume as these have consistently been enjoyed by us. The phone app childcare centre use is truly great as you can look throughout the day and see what your little one is up to which is reassuring. My Little girl finished childcare centre here in August 2021.

They have learnt so much whilst they have attended childcare centre and I sense confident that they are cheerful, secure and involved in opportunities/activities that I could never give them. My two granddaughters both attend childcare centre and are so cheerful there.
