Charnwood Nursery & Pre-School (Thurmaston)

Put simply, it’s incredible. We stumbled on it when our previous one closed with no notice during the pandemic and we urgently needed an alternative. From the minute we got in touch to see if they could offer us a place, they’ve been exceptional. The luckiest change in the world! My daughter (then 3, now 4) is thriving in their care. And boy do they care! The team are truly focused on my little girl’s needs and encourage her individuality. We get excellent communications in person at drop off/pick up and through the app. The trips they go on and the things they help the kids journey are remarkable. The childcare centre feels highly much part of the local community – from taking the kids to sing to care home residents through the window at the height of pandemic, to chatting to shop owners on the way to the nearby park. I can’t thank all the team enough for what they do. They’re exceptional! It’s hard to know where to start when reviewing this childcare centre.

My son attended here for preschool and absolutely loved it, he was consistently out, either at forest school or going to local parks, even temples during Diwali. He was so cheerful at this setting. Now my highly clingy daughter attends and has settled in so well, she talks about it all the time, especially collecting eggs from chickens to make omelettes last week. It is such a enjoyable-filled setting, so cheerful both my kids were able to attend. Not sure where to begin with Charnwood Childcare centre & Pre-School.

Excellent updates between team and parents. Multiple discovering activities throughout the week which change every week that my kids thoroughly delight in and develop from. Outdoor trips to shops and into nature to truly give the kids the best journey to learn. Couldn’t suggest them any more. Highly rate them and I will be sad when they have to leave. Outstanding team and facilities.

I am forever grateful for all the hard work and dedication of Charnwood Childcare centre. 100% suggest them to any parent! The team and childcare centre’s setting is outstanding, my daughter went there and now my son attends and they have learnt so much.

The team genuinely care about the well being of my son (one time, my son was ill and unable to go to the childcare centre and his key worker called me everyday to find out how he was). They also do a variety of activities and teach so many life skills to the kids. My son is thriving at the childcare centre. I would highly suggest it. Sending my son to Charnwood Childcare centre & Pre-School has been one of the best decisions I’ve made.

We are so impressed with how much he has developed since joining the childcare centre. The team have gone above and beyond to help him settle. They are consistently taking the kids out. They truly make an effort to learn the kids’ interests and include them in their playtime and activities at the childcare centre. Management are also truly supportive and flexible. Dropping off and picking up is truly easy and smooth. The interaction between team and parents is excellent and I sense reassured with all the pictures and wow moment updates. My son has been going here for a few months now.

My elder kid went to another childcare centre and I truly see the difference in the standard of care here. The team treat the kids well and give them lots of opportunities to learn and develop, our kid has truly progressed. The setting is also highly real in their approach, mirroring the care you would adore to give at home without the distraction of everyday life. We will be sad when our kid progresses to big school. This childcare centre is leaps and bounds above others.

The team are all so welcoming and cheerful and genuinely care about our kids. I adore the fact that they consistently go that little bit extra. They do things around the community to help bring some joy to others, through the kids. Both of my boys go there and they both settled in truly quickly and easily and are consistently cheerful to go there. Thank you to you all for all your hard work and dedication! They truly take time to understand each kid better and try to incorporate their interest into activities. My little one loves exploring the forest, trips to the park and seeing the chickens on site! There’s consistently something different happening each day to keep the kids entertained but some days my little one just needs cuddles and knowing how patient the team are with her, puts my mind at ease. It’s excellent to see her cheerful and coming home with a smile. Excellent childcare centre with lovely team who are welcoming, welcoming and supportive.

I cried tears of joy when I visited before enrolling my firstborn, as I knew in my heart that the team would nurture and assistance her better than I could do myself, and I don’t say that lightly! Apart from this team, there is no one who can cater for my 4-year-old and 12-month-old kids’s needs better than myself and my husband. My daughter has been thriving here for over 3 years, and my son for 2 weeks. In his case, I am gob-smacked by the measures the childcare centre have put in place to adapt their policies in order to assistance a generation of anti-social lockdown babies. My son has only seen a handful of people in the flesh in his lifetime, and like most lockdown babies, he’s missed out on baby sensory/playgroups. The thought of leaving him at the childcare centre after only 1 hour of socially distanced settling in, terrified me. Recently, Charnwood Childcare centre & Pre-School intuitively changed their policy to allow multiple short settling-in sessions with an accompanying parent, which I am grateful for. This is a phenomenal childcare centre!
