March 30, 2021 at 12:00 amOur child changed to go to Chapeltown Community Nursery during lockdown. They were very welcoming, due to Covid-19 there was minimal settling in but the staff were very supportive and understanding. He settled in without any problems in what was a strange time. During Covid-19 they have kept parents informed about what health and safety measures are in place. They try to do community activities but Covid-19 has made that difficult. Our child loves it here, he asks “Is it a nursery day mum?” when he just has mummy day and he is a bit upset! He loves the food and refuses to leave until he’s finished his tea. His reading has really started to progress, along with his general confidence. The staff really care about the children and are very supportive. We’ve recommended it to a friend already!

July 19, 2021 at 12:00 amI have had two children attend Chapeltown Community Nursery and they are both doing really well at school with their school reports exceeding expectations. I really feel attending this nursery has helped them thrive at such an uncertain time.
But it’s not just my children who have benefitted…I have been able to continue in my professional work, feeling complete trust in the staff team. I have felt supported at many points as a parent from when to start potty training to speech and language development support for my son who started speaking later than expected. I feel parents’ views and parent involvement are both really encouraged. I have been given the opportunity to be involved in planning events and activities at the nursery which has helped me develop skills and confidence.
I found out about the nursery through friends who had attended as children and now those ‘nursery children’ have brought their own children to nursery which I think is a testament to its value to the community.

October 14, 2021 at 12:00 amI have had two children at Chapeltown Community Nursery, my eldest who has just left for school, and my youngest who just started and has settled in so well. I am very happy with the care that Chapeltown Community Nursery offers the children and families. They care about supporting the child, the family, and the wider community. The purpose built building is spacious and the outside space is well used. My boys love cycling around their garden and play area on the nursery bikes. They also love eating and they enjoy the food. The nursery is a community space so there are sometimes events that happen in the building which helps to connect the children to their surroundings, such as photo exhibitions or music and dance.
The staff go above and beyond for the children and I wholeheartedly recommend them.

January 5, 2022 at 12:00 amSimply an amazing place. My son has loved every minute of his time here. It has an amazing outdoor play area, the building itself is spacious, well ventilated, clean and colourful. The nursery itself was set up by the local community in the 1970s and is governed by a committee of parents, ex-parents and other community-minded folks. The emphasis is learning through play and it is just a really fun, happy and family-friendly space. It is also a genuinely diverse place with kids and staff from different ethnic, social and cultural backgrounds, which has helped my son to appreciate all human beings. There is freshly-cooked food every day from the nursery’s own cook. The staff are like family, looking out for parents who are struggling with stuff. They have big plans for the future and are supporting lots of other community ventures. If you want a nursery that is more than a nursery, then this is for you.
