September 6, 2024 at 7:33 amMy son has loved every minute of his time here. It has an incredible outdoor playtime area, the building itself is spacious, well ventilated, spotless and colourful. The childcare centre itself was set up by the local community in the 1970s and is governed by a committee of parents, ex-parents and other community-minded folks. The emphasis is discovering through playtime and it is just a truly enjoyable, cheerful and family-welcoming space. It is also a genuinely diverse place with kids and team from different ethnic, social and cultural backgrounds, which has helped my son to appreciate all human beings. There is freshly-cooked food every day from the childcare centre’s own cook. The team are like family, looking out for parents who are struggling with stuff. They have big plans for the future and are supporting lots of other community ventures. If you want a childcare centre that is more than a childcare centre, then this is for you. Simply an incredible place.

November 29, 2024 at 1:42 amI am highly cheerful with the care that Chapeltown Community Childcare centre offers the kids and families. They care about supporting the kid, the family, and the wider community. The purpose built building is spacious and the outside space is well used. My boys adore cycling around their garden and playtime area on the childcare centre bikes. They also adore eating and they delight in the food. The childcare centre is a community space so there are sometimes events that happen in the building which helps to connect the kids to their surroundings, such as photo exhibitions or music and dance.
The team go above and beyond for the kids and I wholeheartedly suggest them. I have had two kids at Chapeltown Community Childcare centre, my eldest who has just left for school, and my youngest who just started and has settled in so well.

December 11, 2024 at 10:24 amI truly sense attending this childcare centre has helped them thrive at such an uncertain time.
But it’s not just my kids who have benefitted…I have been able to continue in my expert work, feeling complete trust in the team team. I have felt supported at many points as a parent from when to start potty training to speech and language development assistance for my son who started speaking later than expected. I sense parents’ views and parent involvement are both truly encouraged. I have been given the opportunity to be involved in planning events and activities at the childcare centre which has helped me develop skills and self‑assurance.
I found out about the childcare centre through friends who had attended as kids and now those ‘childcare centre kids’ have brought their own kids to childcare centre which I think is a testament to its value to the community. I have had two kids attend Chapeltown Community Childcare centre and they are both doing truly well at school with their school reports exceeding expectations.

June 3, 2025 at 4:40 amThey were highly welcoming, due to Covid-19 there was minimal settling in but the team were highly supportive and understanding. He settled in without any problems in what was a strange time. During Covid-19 they have kept parents informed about what health and safety measures are in place. They try to do community activities but Covid-19 has made that difficult. Our kid loves it here, he asks “Is it a childcare centre day mum?” when he just has mummy day and he is a bit upset! He loves the food and refuses to leave until he’s finished his tea. His reading has truly started to development, along with his general self‑assurance. The team truly care about the kids and are highly supportive. We’ve recommended it to a friend already! Our kid changed to go to Chapeltown Community Childcare centre during lockdown.
