VisitingThe purpose built Nursery is set within 14 acres of beautiful grounds within a conservation area close to Burgess Hill town centre in the heart of Mid Sussex. The site comprises of open playing fields surrounded by natural woodland. The Main School buildings date back to 1704 and are a mixture of Victorian and Edwardian villas complemented with sympathetic contemporary buildings.

DirectionsBurgess Hill Nursery is situated within the stunning grounds of Burgess Hill Girls School and is a five minute walk from Burgess Hill railway station (on the London to Brighton line) and close to excellent road networks (10 miles from Brighton city centre and only 20 minutes from Gatwick), the Nursery is easily accessible and has the advantage of being away from any main roads, within the secure grounds of the school.

March 6, 2019 at 12:00 amMy daughter just started going the Burgess Hill Girls Nursery and she settled in within weeks. We are very happy to see her enjoying herself there. We are looking forward to her great learning journey in this institute.

March 6, 2019 at 12:00 amI really can’t fault this nursery. It is fantastic! It is extremely well run and ordered whilst at the same time the staff are very compassionate with my daughter. She absolutely loves going here and is often sad to leave! The staff are a pleasure to deal with and the building very modern and attractive. The nursery encourages outdoor play and uses the school grounds to good effect. Highly recommended! Your child will love it!

The pre-school learning from age three is great and I know the nursery staff are committed to getting children ready for school so they are equipped to deal with their new surroundings.
My only dissatisfaction is the lack of flexibility regarding nursery days and hours. Term time children’s holidays are not aligned to public school holiday dates which would be much more suitable for working parents.

March 14, 2019 at 12:00 amOverall very good nursery. The fact that the nursery does not provide any facilities for children who need to get some sleep, is the only thing we struggle with. Napping on the floor/carpet? Who would want to sleep like that?

March 14, 2019 at 12:00 amBoth my sons have attended Burgess Hill nursery and both have loved it there. Great staff, fabulous with all the children. A very safe and welcoming environment. My daughter will hopefully be going there too. No other nursery compares, we just love it!

March 14, 2019 at 12:00 amFantastic facilities run by warm, friendly, consummate professionals who genuinely care about the children’s wellbeing and development; our little girl is clearly enjoying her time there. Regular, concise updates on the children’s activities are provided and there is good flexibility for parental check-ins. We are very happy with our choice of nursery!

November 19, 2020 at 12:00 amMy son attended the nursery from 2.5 years to 4 years and thoroughly enjoyed it. There were different themes and activities each week, although he only went for 3 days he still got involved with everything that was taking place in the week. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and make the children so comfortable in their setting. My son started school in Sept and we were told he is doing so well and must have had a good basis of learning from the nursery. My daughter has now just started nursery and we can’t wait to see her grown and learn in this fantastic setting.

November 23, 2020 at 12:00 amSince joining Burgess Hill Nursery, our son has thrived and we’ve been delighted to watch him make friends and build on life skills. It’s obvious the nursery strives to make each day a learning experience, and our son is becoming noticeably more independent and keen to progress. The staff hold parent reviews which is lovely; I can tell they genuinely care about working as a team with the parents to consistently bring out the best in the children – this is what I think sets them apart from other nurseries, it’s more than just childcare; it’s education from the very beginning. Daily online updates allow us to chat about each day, and I’m always so touched by the enthusiasm with which the staff greet us each morning making the drop off (which I can imagine is challenging for some kids and parents) a piece of cake. The staff always seem so genuinely pleased to see us. The service we have received has far exceeded our expectations and is very humbling. Bravo Burgess Hill Nursery!

January 19, 2021 at 12:00 amMy daughter has been attending the nursery since she turned 2 1/2 and she really loves it. She is a shy and sensitive child, however, it has not taken her long to get used to the new routine and she genuinely looks forward to attending each session.
The staff are excellent and encourage her to broaden her horizons and she has definitely become more confident as a result. I receive daily updates on the activities available and also photos/videos of my daughter achieving specific tasks and skills.
In these difficult and uncertain times, I have been provided with tasks and activities for my daughter to complete at home if she is temporarily absent due to COVID-19. Overall, I am very happy with my choice of nursery for my daughter – Burgess Hill Nursery seems to be a perfect start to her education and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

July 12, 2021 at 12:00 amThis is my second child who has attended at nursery at Burgess Hill Girls. I love the access the children have to the variety of outdoor spaces on the campus that in a safe environment for the children to explore. My son has come on remarkably since starting back in January and always races off ahead to get into his room as soon as possible. He has formed some great bonds with both staff and pupils and always comes home with a huge smile on his face which has been so lovely to see after a year of being socially distanced. Being an August baby I was concerned that school in September would be a challenged or him but he’s more than ready to make the step up thanks to his introduction to mark marking, phonics and numbers he has undertaken at nursery. I know he will be sad to leave but will also look back fondly on his time here, I would happily recommend the nursery here to anyone, in fact I already have!

July 27, 2021 at 12:00 amMy daughter attended the nursery and will be joining the main school this September. We have been so pleased to see her develop and flourish over the past year and are continually amazed at the breadth of extra learning experiences the nursery has provided her from watching frogs develop in the classroom tank, to releasing butterfly’s and growing little plants to take home. Her growing interest in numbers and letters has been accelerated by the fun environment cultivated by the teaching staff, with weekly prompts to learn a new phonic and find a corresponding item at home that matches the sound. As parents, we felt very kept up to date with what she was learning through access to online Tapestry journal and could build on that with chat at home. I felt staff make time to chat at pick up/drop off handover if you have any issues and that was a credit to them in this pandemic where class access had to be limited. Most days our daughter has literally skipped up the path to go into the nursery!

February 2, 2022 at 12:00 amCouldn’t be happier with Burgess Hill Nursery. Our daughter has thrived under the care of the team here. The nursery benefits from fantastic facilities across the school site, allowing the children to explore and learn. The staff are consistently excellent, taking time at handovers to understand key messages and convey details of the day’s activities. Very active use of Tapestry means we get loads of pictures and insights into the day. Teaching staff, management, and admin have all been brilliant, and the nursery has overall done amazingly keeping operating effectively throughout covid. Highly recommended.

February 2, 2022 at 12:00 amOur daughter loves going to Burgess Hill Nursery! The staff are superb at welcoming all children and parents alike to be “a part” of the day-to-day activities that have been enjoyed. We love how they challenge their play, learning, and social activities every day to make our usual parent “how was your day?” questions at dinner time actually end up in a conversation about space, animals, recycling, road safety, etc, to name but a few topics!
We also love that all our daughter’s food intolerances (gluten and dairy) are catered for with scrummy meals that are varied every week. They challenge the kids to try new foods, and that makes mealtimes at home even better for us.
We switched to Burgess Hill Nursery mid-way through 2021 after poor experiences with other local nurseries and haven’t looked back (we wish we had enrolled her sooner!). We highly recommend them to all our friends and strangers we meet for both boys and girls. So go and get a tour and check it out for your child too!

Also, we can see her activities on Tapestry journal which is amazing. Very glad to meet the staff, they are so much help, chatting about her days when I drop off and pick up her.

February 8, 2022 at 12:00 amOur daughter has been coming to Burgess Hill Nursery for only a short time but within that time she has made so much progress. The team are fantastic and our daughter speaks very highly of everyone (and children are the hardest critics to please).
