Description
Brook House Nursery was opened in 1991 and is situated in a large family house with a purpose built extension.
We are open 51 weeks a year Monday to Friday from 8am until 6pm. We care for 38 children up to the age of five.
Our nursery is regulated by OFSTED and adheres to its guidelines on staff/child ratios.
All of our members of staff are DBS checked. They are qualified or are working towards their qualifications. They attend regular training courses such as First Aid, Safeguarding, Food Hygiene etc.
Our learning ethos is child centered and overall our aim is to build children’s confidence and encourage them to develop skills and creativity by experimentation. With increased confidence, children are able to tackle new experiences and ask questions without fear of judgment. We feel this provides them with personal strengths which will be valuable not only when they begin Primary school but also as a continuing life skill. Their development is improved by providing them with a wide range of experiences and media. Children are able to explore things which are important to themselves.

September 11, 2015 at 12:00 amThis is a wonderful nursery! The setting is homely and the staff are dedicated, knowledgeable and very caring. My daughter was in the Pre-school room for 18 months and has been given all the tools she needs to start school with ease. I am often amazed by the wonderful artwork she brings home and she loves all the special activities such as ballet, music lessons and visiting the nursery’s allotment. The staff have always been quick to react to any concern I have and produce a monthly newsletter to keep parents up to date with future plans. They do everything they can to inspire the children, e.g. this Spring they hatched chicks and the year before they hatched butterflies. It’s been clear from the offset that to staff it’s a vocation and not just a job. I could not have left my child in safer hands.

September 12, 2022 at 12:00 amI couldn’t speak any more highly of Brook House. It has been the perfect nursery for our two boys and we can’t wait for our third to start there next year! The staff are wonderful, they really love the children and care about their wellbeing and happiness. One of our children has some SEN and his needs have been dealt with sensitively and with real care. We feel so lucky to be able to send our children to Brook House.

October 10, 2022 at 12:00 amOur daughter has been going to Brook House Nursery since she was 9 months old. She is 18 months old now and we are so happy we chose this nursery. The children take part in a great range of fun activities to help with their learning and development. The nursery has a lovely garden and their own allotment, so the little ones spend lots of time playing outside, getting fresh air and even growing their own vegetables. The atmosphere is friendly and safe and the staff are amazing!
