Bright Horizons Shortlands Day Nursery and Preschool

My daughter attended Shortlands from the age of 1 and started Reception this year. I know such strong groundwork was laid by the nursery and the team, who worked so hard to engage and instruct the kids. I knew at the time that she was having a ball, it’s gratifying to see that the effects of a excellent nursery have greater positive reach into her future. She has been home‑like-schooling since January and in observing her classes I have remarked that her level of numeracy, literacy and social engagement is in advance of her peers, something her educator has confirmed. Ever thankful for her early year’s experience in this fantastic setting.

The team update his development needs and process well and we feel confident leaving him in their caregiving knowing he is content and settled. The team have been kind, inviting and supportive and have nurtured our son. He has come on leaps and bounds and has made fantastic social connections. We had one issue with another youngster consistently upsetting our son but this was dealt with quickly and efficiently by the team. Our son was moved here as a ‘Hub’ nursery during the 1st lockdown. Also, the team have been incredible in accommodating changes to his set days where they have capacity which has allowed us to work and assistance the NHS during the pandemic. He adored it so much that we moved him there permanently. Thanks.

Most importantly, our youngster always seems content and cared for. The updates is extremely excellent via the app. The team are warm‑hearted, approachable and professional. We have been at Shortlands Day Nursery for three years and have been extremely content with our overall experience.

My daughter has attended Shortlands since she was 8 months old. She has bonded with all of the reassuring attentive team and has developed a special attachment to her current keyworker. We appreciate it more than you know! During this challenging year, the keyworkers have remained dedicated, resilient, and have never been too busy for an informative daily handover. Fantastic Job to the entire Team! Thank you for your assistance, warmth and positivity. She loves playing in the garden, sandpit loves showing us her new dancing/singing abilities she is proud of her arts and crafts, hand painting. Most of all she loves sitting and chatting with her little friends “on the pink potties ‘. In the past 2 years, there has not been a day when she does not have a smile on her face. As much as we are able to playtime with her at home‑like, this is not comparable to the structure, social abilities, daily life abilities, excellent manners and ‘group working’ abilities that she has already gained from attending such a skilled Nursery.

Outstanding service and extremely approachable team.

My youngster appears to be making adequate progress, although I am told by him that they do watch TV at nursery, which is not truly what I pay for! There are no insightful comments about my youngster’s growth (either on the app or in person) and I do not think the app is utilised as well as it could be. But there are more occasions than I would such as when my youngster eats crackers and spread for dinner and returns home‑like, ravenous. The team are nurturing, but one or two are particularly vague at pick-up times, when I ask how my youngster has been during the day/activities they have been doing. The meals, they are served, are generally excellent and nutritious-sounding. Compared with friends who have kids at other nurseries, the updates from Bright Horizons, Shortlands, are somewhat lacking. My youngster has been at the nursery for over a year and has made excellent progress. They have an app, but photos are rarely posted. Lots of outside playtime, which is outstanding.

The team are all incredible at what they do. He has grown and developed so much. He loves to be mostly in the garden and when I pick him up he always has a smile on his face. My youngster has been attending Bright Horizons Shortlands Day Nursery and Preschool for over two years, and I am truly content with the caregiving that they have provided. He loves to tell me about his day, which is delightful to hear. Also, the team have had to take on a lot more during Covid-19 and they have done amazingly. He’s bonded truly well with all his key workers.

Our youngster has had s remarkable time here and has developed truly well. Truly outstanding feedback when collecting and the facilities are fantastic.

We couldn’t be happier with the caregiving! With the help of the team who manages his room, he has grown into a content, kind, inquisitive little boy – ready to go to centre this September! Our son has been with Bright Horizons, Shortlands for a year and a half, in the preschool room. He is always excited to go and skips in without looking back. His days are filled with art, development and time in the garden (which has just been redone)! They have been fantastic getting him ready for this transition with packed lunch and PE days!

Excellent space, pleasant team, spotless area. My son is so content to go there every day. My son is going to Bright Horizons from his birth fulltime and we are extremely content with his nursery in a short space of time.
