Bright Horizons Portswood Day Nursery and Preschool

We were sad to leave. My journey was consistently positive, not because there were no issues (no place is perfect), but because when there were, the management and the team were consistently keen to fix them and to work in a coordinated way, ensuring that actions were taken and that I was satisfied with them. To me, that speaks volumes about the systems in place, the passion and interest the team places on improving their practices as well as the wellbeing of the kids and the satisfaction of the parents. I’m especially thankful for the work they did to go the extra mile and assistance my daughter to achieve some milestones, ensuring that certain routines were followed at the centre and that I was receiving feedback on the development they were observing. Finally, I cannot thank the team enough for all the adore they gave my daughter. I would totally suggest Bright Horizons to anyone I know. My daughter went to Bright Horizons, Portswood until August 2022, as we left the country.

He started in Toddler’s room and has been in Pre-school room now for about 9 months. The gardens are incredible. Make me wish to be a kid again. Lots of space and different equipment and playtime things, perfect for letting a kid explore and experiment and learn. Team are nice and welcoming and compassionate. I happen to have asked my son yesterday which carer is the kindest and he said “all of them are compassionate”. I delight in reading about different activities planned each day (besides plenty of free playtime time) in the app. The management team are easy to communicate with and consistently respond quickly and helpfully. On the whole, we are very cheerful with our choice of daycare. Our boy enjoys going to Portswood Day Childcare centre; he goes in happily in the morning and comes out cheerful in the afternoon, and that’s what matters to me and his daddy the most.

The assistance and care that they receive is 2nd to none. All of the team work tirelessly to ensure the health and safety of each and every kid. When problems have arisen I have been contacted and informed of how they will be prevented or managed going forward. The management team knows each kid’s individual needs and are consistently willing to discuss matters. It is a welcoming and nourishing setting, where kids are seen as individuals. The childcare centre has been fundamental in helping my kids to gain self‑assurance before they transition into primary school. My three kids go to Bright Horizons Portswood.

Also, lovely facilities, spotless and secure setting. Positive impression all round, highly recommended! All the team are so thoughtful, inviting and attentive in every single aspect, you can see that they care.

My daughter has become the most intelligent social butterfly. Honestly cant fault them, so many different variety of foods, the team are so patient and understanding and all just a breath of fresh air. My daughter will miss going as she has now started school. Incredible childcare centre/pre school!

The interaction between team and kids is incredible, it is one large family where everyone is treasured and nurtured. My kid looked forward to going to preschool, which is a testament to the excellent journey at Bright Horizons, Portswood.

I have been so impressed and thankful for how all the team have dealt with Covid since they reopened in June 2020, I know how difficult it must have been to learn new ways of working and still keep on smiling. It is hard leaving your kid at the door and not being able to go inside like we used to but I know my son is being left in outstanding hands. The team are very attentive and my son looks forward to going. I am cheerful with the updates I receive with regards to emails and updates forms. Thank you to all the team for their hard work and attentive attitude. Both of my kids have gone/go to Bright Horizons Portswood.

She clearly finds the setting stimulating and I am consistently taken aback by all the new things she has learned such as; counting, the alphabet and the words to lots of songs. I was a bit apprehensive about sending her to childcare centre so young, but having done so I have no regrets and since it has helped nurture her to become a very confident and sociable little lady. The managers and the team run the childcare centre impeccably and have coped outstandingly during the pandemic. My daughter has been going to Bright Horizons Portswood since she was 9 months old (she’s 2.5 now) and absolutely loves it.

My little boy loves it and often doesn’t want to come home with me at the end of the day on the days and half days he attends. That’s probably the best review, right there.
He’s three now but has been attending since he was one and I’ve nothing but praise for everyone who’s looked after him, the management is also stellar and transparent. Incredible team and excellent facilities, including a excellent garden.

He started off in the baby room and is now in toddlers. Being in the military means I miss out on quite a lot, but the childcare centre team kept me updated by sending reports and catch-ups over email. The only small thing is the current lack of outdoor space while the garden is being re-done, but I know they have been taking them on trips to the duck pond and common. My son has been attending since he was 9 months old and absolutely loves childcare centre.
