Becket Hall Day Nursery

My son attended Becket Hall from age six months, through to starting school at four. The moment I saw the outside space a Becket Hall I knew it was the place I wanted him to grow and flourish in and I am so happy with that decision. The staff are wonderful, so encouraging of the children’s development.
There is a lovely community feel amongst the parents, I have developed great friendships, which has helped us all through four very busy years.
I couldn’t recommend Becket Hall highly enough, it is a treasure hidden away in the city centre!

My daughter attended Becket Hall from the age of ten months until she started school. She has had many happy years here due to the excellent relationships she formed with staff and other children. The children seem to engage in a wide range of activities and she particularly enjoyed playing in the garden which is pretty large and very well equipped for a city centre nursery. Becket Hall involves the pre-school children in a wonderful initiative where they visit older people in a local care home. Other day trips involved attending forest school which was also a great experience. The Christmas concerts and the graduation ceremony were wonderful events for parents to attend. I felt my daughter was very well cared for during her time here and it was sad to see her leave!

Cannot praise Becket Hall enough. From the baby unit to preschool, the facilities, staff, and endeavours to go beyond the expectations of a nursery, everything is incredible. Our daughter made some amazing friends, ate foods she still refuses to eat at home, learned boundaries and rules, and was truly loved by a lot of people who spent ten hours a day, five days a week, making sure our little girl was safe, happy, educated, and developing. I think every parent must wonder how in the world they do it!

Forest school was fantastic, and the care home visits were sweet and kind and helped our kids develop so much more than just interacting with their own age. I loved picking her up and dropping her off (though probably spent way too much time nattering to staff and parents), and the garden is just fantastic.

We are honest to god disappointed that we can’t send our new arrival there (but we’ve moved house closer to work to make school drop offs and pick ups easier for my daughter).

This is a lovely nursery, with a great group of staff creating a friendly and supportive atmosphere for the children. Both of my children went to Becket Hall Day Nursery when they were just over a year, and stayed until going to school. They enjoyed the large garden and appreciated spending lots of time outside. My daughter especially loved sports activities and my son played most days in the mud kitchen. There always seemed to be lots going on, and new ideas to keep the children interested in things to do. Outings in the minibus to forest school were always very much looked forward to. I found the staff very receptive to any concerns I had, and open to ideas.

Extremely impressed with the standard of childcare at Becket Hall. Staff go the extra mile and really care about the kids. From the minute you leave your child you know they are in safe hands and they will have a fun day. We have huge admiration for the caring nature of the staff who are not afraid to comfort kids and make everyone feel welcome. Becket is a good size, well organised unit with superb facilities including the outdoor play area which they use all year round. All credit to a fantastic nursery – both us and our son can’t thank you enough for all the happy, lasting memories.

My son came on leaps and bounds when joining Beckett Hall Day Nursery.
He found it difficult settling at the beginning but the patience and professionalism of the staff soon helped my son become comfortable in his settings.

Becket Hall Day Nursery management and staff are absolutely amazing, dedicated and caring. My son graduated over 2 months ago but still says Becket Hall is his favourite nursery; he made great friends there and mentions his key worker often too. The location of the nursey is great for parents working in central Bristol and facilities are absolutely the best in comparison to what other centrally located nurseries can offer. The setting, procedures, routines and activities are all well organised, food is great, all dietary needs are catered for and parents wishes are respected too. You receive daily handover at pick up so know exactly how the day went for your child (something I was surprised to find out not all nurseries do!). My son was very happy and eager to go to Becket Hall Day Nursery and I had all the confidence leaving him there every day, would highly recommend this nursery to any parent.

As new parents, we were very nervous about taking our then 9-month old baby to nursery, not only because you don’t know how the settling in is going to be, but also because you worry about so many things. I can confidently say that 7 months in, we could not be happier with Becket Hall and all the credit goes to their incredible staff. They’re caring, loving and overall just brilliant. It’s not just looking after the babies and children, it’s about encouraging them, nurturing them and teaching them, it’s about taking guidance from parents but also advising when they need to. Each of the workers that have been with our baby, whether caring for her regularly or on an ad-hoc basis, has been amazing. The nursery is a safe, happy and stimulating place for the children and they clearly love being there. We recommend it to anyone that is thinking about a nursery for their child.

Really well run nursery – excellent communication and really friendly, lovely staff who really care about the children. Lovely garden and facilities, as well as engaging, fun activities. My daughter was very happy through the baby unit and pre-school and really enjoyed the food!
