DirectionsThe Mulberry; Battle Abbey School Home of Early Years Facility is located at 40 Hastings Road, Bexhill. If approaching on the A259 turn off the seafront at the roundabout opposite the Ravenside Retail Park and follow the road round to the crossroads at Bexhill College. Continue ahead on to Hastings Road. The Nursery and Prep School are two thirds of the way up the road on the right and clearly signposted.

October 5, 2024 at 4:02 pmIt’s the first social setting he’s been in and he struggled a bit at the beginning. The childcare centre team have been exceptional in supporting him and encouraging him to grow. His self‑assurance has grown and he loves childcare centre days! He’s also quite excited at pickup times as well so we know he’s had a excellent day. I would highly suggest the Mulberry to anyone! Our son has been at the childcare centre since January.

October 13, 2024 at 12:21 amThe team are fantastic – attentive, welcoming, well‑informed and so attentive to your little one’s needs. As first time parents we were worried about finding the right childcare setting, (not to mention during the pandemic – Summer 2021), but we had the most incredible welcome and settling in sessions with the team and we just knew it was the right place for him. He has come on leaps and bounds with his self‑assurance, walking and speech and has a excellent bond with the team. The playtime areas and space including the field are such lovely areas for the kids to delight in too as well as the delicious fresh meals. I would thoroughly suggest the childcare centre to anyone and sense very lucky and grateful to have found such a fantastic, secure place for my son to learn and grow. My son has been attending Battle Abbey Childcare centre for just over a year in the baby room (he has just turned 2) and has been thriving!

October 23, 2024 at 12:33 amThe team have a excellent relationship with the kids and consistently care for their needs. Our son took a while to settle but team were patient and understanding and spent time with him, sharing books every morning to make him sense happier. He consistently goes into childcare centre with a smile and happily talks about his day at home. The updates from key workers at the end of the sessions is lovely, consistently have time to chat about the kid’s day. Tapestry is updated regularly and it is lovely to see the kids doing different activities in their sessions. We are very pleased with how the childcare centre is run and how kids are looked after, it has been lovely to see our son gain more self‑assurance with groups of kids and other adults. We are very pleased with how our kid has been welcomed into childcare centre.

October 26, 2024 at 11:03 pmThe level of care is exceptional, the team know how to nuture the kids to get the very best out of them. They get to journey such a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities including forest school, which is incredible. A hot two course lunch is provided, as well as healthy snacks. I couldn’t suggest this childcare centre more highly. Both my kids have attended Battle Abbey Childcare centre, Bexhill and both have had the most incredible journey.

I would 100% suggest the childcare centre to friends and family. My daughter has been going to Battle Abbey Childcare centre for the past two years and they have been outstanding.

November 14, 2024 at 3:43 amAs a first time working mum, I was incredibly nervous about putting my baby into childcare but the team in the baby room were incredible. They truly got to know my son and stopped at nothing to help him development and settle in. He has now moved up to the age 2+ room and has come on leaps and bounds in the attentive, enjoyable and engaging atmosphere that Battle Abbey provides. What I adore about this childcare centre is how flexible and truly committed the team are to working with your kid and their personality – there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach. I wouldn’t dream of sending him anywhere else and every day that I pick him up, he’s had home-cooked, healthy meals and had enjoyable taking part in a range of activities and usually picked up a new word or two. My son has been at Battle Abbey Childcare centre since he was 10 months old.

January 17, 2025 at 10:35 pmI have no worries when dropping my son off at childcare centre – I sense he is secure, having enjoyable, discovering new things every day and it is excellent that he looks forward to his childcare centre days. I am very grateful to the team for the care they provide for my son. I really struggled to find a childcare centre that ticked all the boxes but the team and facilities at Battle Abbey Childcare centre are exactly what I’ve been looking for.

February 23, 2025 at 7:57 pmThe handovers and general updates are detailed. I sense connected to my kid’s discovering and enjoyable through daily meetings and tapestry. The childcare centre team have appeared compassionate and very attentive and understanding of her character, interests, abilities and needs, especially over time.
Another important aspect is that my kid is consistently cheerful to arrive and be in the childcare centre company, watching her and following her signs is key to this. This speaks volumes.
She is still very young but I hope that in this supportive, attentive and encouraging and opportune setting she will continue to flourish and happily build her character. It is a secure, well-equipped and organised place with a diverse range of activities.

February 27, 2025 at 3:40 amShe took about two visits to get used to us not being with her and on about the 5th visit (she attends for 4 half days a week) she literally leapt out of my arms (I almost dropped her!) as she was so desperate to get inside! Now, when we’re up to 100 yards from the door and she realises where she’s going, her face lights up no matter how grumpy she has been all morning. I genuinely think the most disappointing part of her day is leaving! The team at the Childcare centre consistently take time to give me a rundown of how she has been that day and what she has eaten so I can see how she’s progressing and that, together with the regular updates and pictures on Tapestry (their in house system to which all parents are given a login) makes it a really excellent journey for parent and kid alike. I would highly suggest the Childcare centre to anyone. My daughter has been at Battle Abbey Childcare centre for a little over 4 months, starting when she was 16 months old and the Childcare centre is quite simply incredible.

March 25, 2025 at 9:27 pmThe online Tapestry service is a fantastic window into their world at the Childcare centre and all contact we have had with our Key workers have proved to us that they really understood our kids and what made them tick. We couldn’t be cheerful with the service we have had and it will be a sad time when we finally say goodbye to the Childcare centre this September. We have put both our kids through Battle Abbey Childcare centre and really couldn’t fault the level of service, care and attention our kids and family have received during our time with them.

Facilities are remarkable and they have lots of opportunities such as ballet and watching caterpillars transform into butterflies etc. Outstanding team who are very attentive and exceptional with kids.

We are so pleased and would not hesitate to suggest the childcare centre to friends and family. Our son’s speech and general discovering is going so well and we attribute a big part of that to his time at childcare centre. My son has attended the childcare centre for two years now (since he was 10 months old).
