Acorn Day Nursery (YMCA, Central Milton Keynes)

I can firmly say moving my daughter to Acorn was the best decision we made and only wish we had done it sooner! Enrolling and arranging my daughter’s settling-in sessions was so easy and every question I’ve had has been answered always with a inviting and approachable response. My daughter is happier in herself and there are no more tears going into nursery which makes my day as a parent less stressful. I also think it’s important to mention the admin team behind the scenes. I can see how attentive the team are to my daughter as they have picked up on her habits in such a short space of time. My daughter has extremely recently moved to Acorn and the difference we are already seeing in her is incredible.

My little ones learned so much stuff there, thank you to all the delightful team for your adore and guidance towards my little ones. My daughter and son go to this nursery, truly content with the way everything is kept there, all the team are delightful and pleasant people.

All of the team there were passionate and dedicated to making our little one feel comfortable and now she loves going to the nursery. As a first time parent and under the current situation I was extremely anxious about the settling in process but we were extremely content with how it went. Highly highly recommend the nursery and we are excited about the future with them! Loves the food there and eating with her new friends which is fantastic for developing social abilities in this current setting, when we don’t get to socialize as much as we would normally. Our baby girl was under one when she first attended the nursery and I believe she was one of the first ones to join the nursery after it was opened this year. She is 14 months old now and she gets involved in a lot of sensory and messy playtime, using mostly natural elements which is fantastic.

Acorn Day Nursery YMCA, Central Milton Keynes is an absolute delight to send our daughter to. Would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this nursery. From the onset (May/June 21) when she first attended, she has become confident and approachable and the team at this nursery should be recognised for their contribution towards her growth. The daily updates via app are fantastic and the abundance of photos are a bonus. 10/10 in every way. The team truly do go above and beyond and nothing is too much trouble for them. We initially had concerns that she would not interact as easily with others having been born during lockdown however, we have been proven wrong as she loves to go to nursery (and even walks to the door with her nursery bag and shoes in hand first thing in the morning!). (Makes us worry less when we are both at work). Well done Acorn YMCA – keep up the fantastic work. Our daughter has her favourites and that’s reassuring to know she has bonded well.

We were worried because he has never been away from me and his dad, and also he was a extremely shy youngster, but the team were incredible, treated him with a lot of adore and to our surprise, he has quickly settled in. Brilliant nursery! I know that my son is in excellent hands, and I am content about it. Every single member of the team is extremely approachable and compassionate. Our son started to attend nursery only a few weeks ago. We are thankful for the way the team are nurturing for our son and excellent updates with the parents.

The Famly app they use is incredible and I adore the daily updates and pictures of what my girls have been doing throughout their day! The team are truly inviting and passionate about what they do. My girls absolutely adore attending and are always content and excited to go to nursery. They attend 3 days a week and every day is different! You can tell they are in the job for the right reasons and adore what they do! They are involved in lots of different activities throughout the day, both inside and out. I would highly highly recommend this setting! They have implemented different procedures to minimise the spread of covid and do everything they can to still keep parents involved at this difficult time. What an incredible nursery this is!

My son’s key person is absolutely remarkable and knows both of my kids and I couldn’t highly recommend her any more if I tried. I am rest assured I can work knowing my son is in extremely excellent hands. My youngest youngster has a head condition and they completed all relevant risk assessments and update with me when required in regard to this above and beyond the usual updates you would have with a nursery. I have just returned to work from maternity leave so my one year old is at this nursery. Prior to this my 5-year-old attended before starting centre. The teams work well together and are extremely approachable. I have nothing but positive feedback to give to this nursery. The new nursery manager is a breath of fresh air and quite clearly extremely knowledgeable in her field. My eldest son has additional needs and they went above and beyond to help meet his needs including providing a one to one assistance. I am confident that my son is in an setting where he will be secure and thrive.

Even during covid times they did not shorten the settling in sessions but always followed the safety measures. The team are always informing us well how he is getting on on a day to day basis. I such as the fact that the little ones spend their time outdoors as much as possible. We are overall extremely pleased with the nursery and how well my youngster has settled. Updates on the app is also brilliant and it’s fantastic to see photos and observations of his day. They offered him 3-4 weeks of little settling-in sessions which helped me and my son a lot. The managers made sure he was fully settled before he started his full days at nursery. The settling-in process has been fantastic. My son started at Acorn YMCA nursery in November 2020 when he turned just 2 years old. It is remarkable to see all these content and muddy little ones playing in the mud kitchen or running around in the garden. Due to covid he had not had much social interaction and was mostly at home‑like since almost his 1st birthday.

The nursery strives on outdoor enjoyable which is fantastic for kids. Highly recommended, not just from me but also from my 4-year-old, she will be super sad leaving in September. My youngster has been extremely content at the YMCA nursery. She’s gained confidence, made lots of new friends, and has learnt so much.

Brilliant team. My youngster was born in lock down and has struggled with new people. I could not praise the nursery enough, what they do for my youngster and how far they have helped her develop is just outstanding practice. Acorn YMCA supported me and my partner in settling my little girl, could not thank them enough.
