Acorn Day Nursery (Cold Harbour)

I am really pleased that my son attends this nursery. The staff are really enthusiastic about their work and look after him so well. They always have great activities available, things that help him learn and explore. They have a nice outdoor space too. They give regular feedback on how he is getting on and also support me in helping him develop.

Over the time period that our daughter has attended the Acorn Cold Harbour nursery (2 years and counting), she has received terrific support in her development, her personality, and her overall experience. The staff have a clear focus on the wellbeing of the child and give a detailed view through their app regarding their meals, sleep, and overall activity. The mix of indoor and outdoor area, with large grass and play areas are what drew us to this nursery. Staff actively engage to make the children comfortable with a wide range of environments, both within the nursery grounds and the surrounding area (parks/shops/etc). Over the COVID lockdown the staff has done everything in their power to keep the children engaged and as such the development of our daughter has seen minimal impact, truly astonishing! Overall I’d wholeheartedly recommend this nursery due to the quality of staff, the freshly cooked meals and the overall joy and pleasure we see in our daughter when she comes and goes!

Overall experience very good. I was quite hesitant in sending my daughter as she is my 1st child but everything went very well everyone there is very nice and welcoming. My daughter settled in very well and enjoys her time there so thank you ladies for all your efforts.

My daughter always wakes up excited to go to nursery. The girls are all fantastic and always so helpful too. The app has been amazing, we love seeing all our daughter’s photos of what she has been up to. The nursery has been fantastic and we will definitely be coming back with our second daughter soon.

We love the nursery and they really helped ease my anxiety in regards to going back to work. My daughter gets so excited when driving towards the nursery and can’t wait to get in, she’s so confident and is learning so much.

I am a very anxious mother but I feel totally at ease taking my child to nursery each day knowing she is in well-looked-after hands. The staff are brilliant and understanding – catering to my needs as an anxious parent and reassuring me when I have concerns. The facilities are awesome, and the outdoor space for the children is amazing. My little one loves going to nursery every day. She is usually clingy, but as soon as she sees those nursery gates she pelts full speed towards the door ready to go inside. If that isn’t a testament to how good this nursery is then what is? My child comes home every day with a huge smile on her face (often covered in paint too) because she has had so much fun playing and creating and making a mess.

My son goes to Acorn and loves it, always goes in happy and comes home happy. Couldn’t ask for much more. The staff are amazing, would highly recommend. Nothing is ever too much for them, always respond when you message them.

My little boy absolutely loves going to this nursery, he’s been going every weekday now for about 1.5yrs and although a little nervous those first few weeks the team made him feel really welcome and it wasn’t long before he was running in every morning and continues to do so(bar the odd off day), he absolutely loves all the staff here as do both of us. He moved up to the squirrels in April this year and again the transition was made very comfortable for him and settled in extremely well! The team are fantastic, our son talks about them with a smile on his face, and tells us all the exciting things he got up to each day. Could not recommend Acorns enough they are fantastic!

My little boy loves going to nursery! They make him so welcome and he loves spending time outside in the woodland area. The staff are amazing and very friendly and caring towards all of the children. Always on hand to answer any questions or queries I may have.

I would highly recommend Acorn Cold Harbour. Both of my children have attended the setting and I can’t speak highly enough of it. The staff genuinely care about the children and develop a wonderful connection with them. The ethos of the nursery is very positive, has a good balance between child and adult led time and I love that they have unlimited access to the massive outdoor area, including a hut and forest area. The focus on wooden and open-ended learning is better for the children and the environment. They have the best chef inside who creates amazing meals for the children and is inclusive of children with special dietary requirements, making sure my two allergy children were able to eat what their friends were just adapted for their needs. You will always be greeted with a smile and warm welcome anytime you drop or collect your child and have regular feedback about how they are getting on. Thank you!
