The team are very welcoming, supportive, and they provide him with so much care, attention, and positivity. They really care about kids’s discovering and development and ensure parents are involved too.
My son learned a lot, developed many friendships and has developed from a baby to a confident boy. My son has been at Playtime Away – Southampton City for almost 4 years.

October 11, 2024 at 3:59 pmIt is evident how influential his keyworkers and childcare centre team are in his cultural education, development needs and expectations and updates. My son has many allergies and the childcare centre have been absolutely vigilant regarding managing his dietary requirements, which as a mother, is so very reassuring. Would highly suggest Playtime Away to all parents. My 3-year-old is very cheerful at Playtime Away Day Childcare centre.

November 12, 2024 at 3:55 amGreat discovering activities. Slightly more expensive compared to other nurseries in town. They encourage kids to become independent. Management needs improvement as well as updates with parents via the app. Outstanding childcare centre nurses who are really attentive.

Both my kids have learnt so much by attending Playtime Away. If I have my time again, I would still pick Playtime Away.
They are dedicated to your kids and their needs. The admin team are also incredible, will go and out of their way to helps. My kids have been at Playtime Away since 2018.

January 2, 2025 at 10:02 amMy son has been attending childcare centre for a year and a half now and he loves it in there. He consistently goes there with a smile and comes back home still smiling. Lovely team showing dedication and patience to the kids.
Thank you for helping with potty training, attentive when my son wasn’t feeling well, making every day a enjoyable setting to go to which was consistently very important.

April 24, 2025 at 9:22 amHe’s now 3 and I cannot suggest this childcare centre enough, every single team member helped my son and me settle in so easily, he has learnt so much and his social skills have exceeded also. My son has been a part of the Playtime Away family since he was 8 months old, I never wanted or thought I would put him into childcare centre so young but as I was studying I had no choice.

May 2, 2025 at 1:05 amWe had never left him alone with anyone and we were apprehensive but childcare centre team were reassuring and just compassionate really (to him and to us!) He did struggle to settle and again team were quick to act to ensure he was in the most nurturing setting possible to assistance his transition and advised a move to the cosy and delightful Little Owls. After one session in the Little Owls, he was back on track – cheerful, playing and smiley. Excellent advice and absolutely the right decision. He just needed a bit of time really and now he loves being back in the Hungry Caterpillars.
Team in the childcare centre have such a excellent energy. They are on hand to tell us about our son’s day, his activities and his discovering journey. We are consistently left feeling that they really care for him – when they talk about what he’s done it’s with a sense of pride.
The recent Ofsted rating of Great is well deserved. Lovely, passionate team who know their stuff. Our son started at Playtime Away Day Childcare centre in June 2022.

May 20, 2025 at 2:57 amHe was a lockdown baby, and I had spent every minute with him up until that point, so sending him to childcare centre left me feeling extremely anxious. However, I need not have worried. My son’s first key worker, whose care and attention left me feeling so reassured (and a bit inviting and fuzzy inside). At two and a half years old, he has continued to thrive with the assistance of this dedicated team and is now in Elmer Elephants with another fantastic key worker. He loves to tell me about his adventures with her and his friends, and I adore to hear them. Watching my son’s imagination, speech, numeric, and social skills blossom in this attentive setting has been an absolute joy, and it is that care that has allowed him to grow so confidently. To any parent looking for a childcare centre who is passionate about your kid’s development, Playtime Away City day childcare centre would be hard to beat. My son started at Playtime Away at eleven months old in March 2021.

June 24, 2025 at 1:08 pmThey seem to offer a wide range of activities to keep the kids entertained and a great menu of food that our daughter enjoys, she never comes home hungry. The app is also handy so you can keep up with what your kid is up to during the day. Our daughter loved her time in hungry caterpillars, the team there made her sense very welcome and secure.
