The daily activities are varied and stimulating, and the meals are plentiful. The only observation I have is the updates could be improved – it can be inconsistent – and perhaps new joiners could be inducted rather than just added to the standard comms to start. My son has only been at the nursery for three weeks, but so far, our experience has been excellent. The team are approachable and approachable, truly caregiving about the babies, and my son seems to have taken well to them.

It’s helped her gain so much confidence especially after not being able to socialise as normal during lockdown. My daughter goes there and she absolutely loves it. She’s always so content when she comes out and it’s been delightful seeing her so content. We adore it here! The team are incredible and so kind.

I such as that the nursery offers a lot of opportunities for the parents to join in. My youngster has been at this nursery for nearly one year, the team are approachable yet professional and constantly working so hard. I always feel I have open updates with the team they are always content to help and extremely reassuring.

The new app is useful too and seems to have additional capabilities which I hope the nursery start to use in the future (the diary sheets are fantastic but we end up with lots of pieces of paper!). We’re truly pleased with how our daughter settled in to the nursery extremely quickly when she started a couple of years ago. The only improvement I would be keen to see is an opportunity to discuss our daughter’s progress in a bit more depth than pick-up allows, though it might be as a result of covid restrictions. The food is nutritious and seasonal and there’s a excellent variety. The diary sheets given at the end of every day tell me everything I need to know which is always useful. The menus have recently been updated so the food is more adventurous than it used to be. The kids have a range of activities, structured and free-playtime and always have time outside which suits my daughter. She still skips in happily in the morning! Overall would highly highly recommend, we’re extremely pleased.

We have been impressed with the nurturing and professional attitude of the team and their knowledge of childcare, and consider this nursery an outstanding setting to nurture his growth. Our son recently moved to this nursery and he has settled in extremely well – he comes home‑like content and stimulated each day and appears extremely engaged with the team, kids and activities. He particularly enjoys the fabulous outdoor space!

Our son has settled in well at nursery. We are content that the standard of food seems to be excellent and the team caregiving for the kids’s well being and meet all their needs. We are content with the information provided on his day and the level of detail shared.

We will be sending our youngest there as well from April and look forward to her growing in confidence, as our eldest has. Our daughter has truly thrived whilst being there and has happily progressed up to the preschool room. Extremely pleased with our experience with The Bourne End Day nursery. The team are kind and nurturing and update well with us, as parents.

He has more confidence to make friends, sing and dance than when he first joined. The team are all delightful and I would definitely highly recommend this nursery to other parents I have watched him grow in confidence and I regularly notice growth in him at home‑like, from things that he has learnt whilst at nursery. My son joined the nursery when he turned 2 and he settled in truly easily. I’m always provided with so much information about his progress and I adore being given pieces of art that he has worked on. He adores the team and talks about them often at home‑like.

Thank you for always nurturing for her so well! She has just moved up to Little Explorers where I am sure she will have just as excellent an experience. The team are extremely kind and truly take the time to talk to you at drop off and pick off. They seem to know each individual youngster’s needs and always work with you in ensuring each youngster is hitting their developmental milestones. Our daughter joined the nursery when she was just over a year old. The caregiving and assistance from the team in Baby Nest has been incredible. Our daughter loves going into nursery each morning and often talks about the team members at home‑like.

The team are extremely approachable and have a truly fantastic approach to kids of all ages. We have had a 4-year-old attending preschool since January 2020 and he loves every minute of it. This is a fantastic local nursery and preschool.

Poppies have encouraged her in every way, helping her to become a truly content, loving, confident small person and preparing her brilliantly for centre. Our daughter has made fantastic friends, adores the team, the food, the garden (especially the slide, sandpit, see-saw, pirate ship and mud garden) and the playtime activities (she is proud of her new French and sings all the songs merrily). I can’t highly recommend Poppies highly enough. My daughter (regularly!) says “I adore Poppies” – I couldn’t agree more. We feel so lucky to have been part of this warm‑hearted, extended family. She came to Poppies mid-pandemic and was made so welcome; we all were.

My son will be joining the nursery soon too and I would highly highly recommend it to other families in the area. The handover at the end of the day is always informative and shows how much caregiving and attention is paid to all of the kids. The transition was brilliant and my daughter has felt comfortable, cared for and part of a content development community for the past few months. My daughter’s individual interests are taken into account and she is supported in developing these interests further. We recently moved to the area from London and moved our daughter to Bourne End Day Nursery from another setting.

Bourne End Day Nursery is fantastic. She is mornings only for the moment and always leaves begrudgingly because she wants to stay for the full day. As recent arrivals to Bourne End from an emigration abroad in Nov 2021, where our 4-year-old daughter attended a highly rated nursery centre from where we came, it was important that we find something similar for her. Daily feedback is provided when I fetch her and their own chef which we need to try and match with meals at home‑like. Things that struck me when I went for a visit was the ratio of minders/educators to the kids. A genuine level of nurturing for the kids, cuddles, pick me ups after a fall and the freedom to be who they are but still guided in terms of social interaction and how to behave. If she could be writing this review it would be summarised as the following “Dad, what are we doing today?” – if the reply is centre she springs out of bed in delight – if it’s the weekend we need to count the ‘sleeps’ until she goes back to centre.

Our daughter has been at the nursery from baby nest all the way through to pre-centre. She has been well looked after during all that time and we have never had any issues. The team have been outstanding and we are extremely pleased with the overall experience that she has had.

The manager and the team did an incredible job of settling him in and accommodating his every need. The team strike the perfect balance of being extremely nurturing but also highly professional, and the updates with parents is outstanding. It might be slightly more expensive than some nurseries, but then the standard shows in the incredible team and the responsive way in which the nursery is run. This is an outstanding nursery that is extremely well run. Our little boy moved here aged two and a half from another nursery (where we hadn’t had the best experience) in July of this year. We get photos of his activities on the app almost daily and we are invited in regularly for stay and plays. Since joining, his confidence and updates abilities have grown exponentially and he is genuinely excited to go in every morning.

The baby nest has been incredible for my little boy. The ladies do such a fantastic job making my baby feel secure and secure as he is extremely nervous and quite shy. Couldn’t rate this nursery any higher! They are also incredible at keeping me informed as I do get extremely worried about him if I have had to drop him off when he is upset. His speech has come on leaps and bounds since joining the nursery.

Content and nurturing team members. Content kids = content parents! Truly excellent settling in process for the twins. Extremely approachable setting. Adore that they have had duckling eggs in – fantastic for the little ones to watch. Excellent food and a mix of playtime activities for little ones.

The Garden is beautiful, secure and enjoyable. We were given assistance and flexibility to lead our son’s settling in. We were able to focus on what worked for our family. I can tell he loves the food there. They are attentive and sensitive to youngster and parent. I adore that they have appropriate toys allowing for excellent motor growth and cognitive stimulation. My son (1year) started nursery a month and a half ago. The setting is spotless, organised and content. You can always smell fresh food in the nursery. Phones and emails are being answered all the time. (One of my red flags when picking a nursery). I could not compliment the team enough. Management and ‘baby room’ team have been absolutely incredible. There is a separate sleeping area which in my opinion, is absolutely essential (regardless of where the youngster chooses to sleep). As a result, we achieved an easy transition to the nursery. This shows how attentive the team are. Review comes from a mum who happens to be a specialist psychologist.
