October 28, 2024 at 2:47 pmNot only are they exceptionally compassionate, supportive, and nurturing, but they’re also highly engaged with our daughter and helping encourage her development in reading, writing, and counting. The Lorrimore Square team also ensures there’s excellent updates back and forth with the parents, via daily updates with the app, quarterly parents meetings, and whenever my wife pick-up/drop-off our kid there’s consistently a little bit of chat re: what they’ve been doing and how our daughter’s been. We are exceptionally lucky to have our daughter at such a remarkable childcare centre; we would suggest Lorrimore Square in a heartbeat! The team at 1st Place Lorrimore Square have been incredible.

November 10, 2024 at 4:02 pmI have never worried about leaving my kid at childcare centre. The team are highly understanding and supportive when kids go through difficult phases (biting in our case) and come up with ideas and solutions to overcome the issues. The move up to the bigger kids room helped a lot to improve the situation. All the team are exceptionally welcoming to parents and attentive and compassionate to the kids.

November 22, 2024 at 5:28 pmI particularly like that kids are allowed a lot of “free-flow” time outside, where they can playtime and explore independently. Compared to the childcare centre our kids were at before, there seems to be less of a structured curriculum; discovering occurs more organically (which might not be for everyone). Facilities are satisfactory (the building is old and there is not much daylight), but the team goes to excellent lengths to create a welcoming setting – lots of houseplants, wooden toys, books, scrap material for arts and crafts etc. The only thing I miss is fixed sleeping times, kids are allowed to rest when they want, which does not work for our kids. This is a conveniently located childcare centre with a lovely, attentive team that take kids’s development highly seriously.

December 1, 2024 at 1:59 amShe truly enjoys it, is highly comfortable with all of the team, especially her key worker and has developed truly well. We have found Lorrimore to be highly flexible and supportive when we’ve needed the extra cover unlike a lot of nearby nurseries. We’re both working parents so this has been a particular asset. The childcare centre is well laid out, has a great balance of outside to in, ample buggy parking and a sweet little playtime park directly next door for the spring/summer month post-pick-ups. It’s also truly well placed for commuting into town. We have never regretted moving our daughter here and couldn’t suggest Lorrimore and its team highly enough. We have loved sending our 1-2 year-old to Lorrimore Square.

January 10, 2025 at 8:38 amThe induction period was highly thorough to ensure it wasn’t traumatic, they are highly attentive and careful with babies emotions. Even though they take a highly exploratory approach kids are constantly supervised and parents are highly well informed of their daily behaviour and development. My daughter has just started at 1st Place at Lorrimore Square and she absolutely loves it.

January 15, 2025 at 11:42 pmThe team, kids and parents make are a highly compassionate attentive community. We adore the location – away from busy polluted roads, great space to run around and stay fit and a little park nearby in warmer weather is full of parents and kids enjoying getting to know each other and looking after each other.
The childcare centre uses the Italian Reggio Emilia approach of discovering philosophy which involves kid-directed exploring through areas of interest for the kid – this involves a commitment from parents to share what their kids are interested in at home so the team can explore this with the kid and make links to other discoveries and interests.
The childcare centre manager is exceptionally passionate about Forest School, attentive to the kids’s needs and observant.
We truly trust and value the team and appreciate the dedication of the team to forest school and genuinely attentive for our kids. My four-year-old son and one-year-old daughter adore Lorrimore Square Childcare centre.

January 26, 2025 at 11:54 amOur daughter absolutely loves attending and has developed so much since joining at the age of one. The team are incredibly welcoming, engaged and knowledgable. They know all the kids and are consistently looking for ways to interact and assistance them. Every kid I see is engaged, motivated and cheerful. The forest school is a particular highlight, which I believe sets 1st Place above many other nurseries, offering the kids a unique opportunity to spend time exploring and discovering about nature. We couldn’t be happier. We are so pleased with our journey of 1st Place at Lorrimore Square.

February 2, 2025 at 2:35 pmA great childcare centre where the kids explore and learn through playtime. The childcare centre undergoes lots of activities for the kids, which my daughter found engaging and enjoyable. Overall I have been cheerful with my daughter’s time there but unfortunately, we are moving and have to leave. We have been with 1st Place at Lorrimore Square for a little over a year now and my daughter loves it.

February 6, 2025 at 1:27 amThe large space and facilities are excellent but the one thing that makes the biggest difference (and in my opinion makes this childcare centre an outstanding place to send our kid) is the quality and dedication of the team. They are clearly well‑informed, enthusiastic, attentive and attentive. This is not only evidenced by our interactions with them but also the variety of activities they do with the kids (trips, playtime etc). My conversations with other parents confirm this view. When both of us started to work full time we were a bit concerned about sending our daughter to childcare centre 50 hours per week – this concern quickly went away as she clearly loves it there! Our daughter has attended 1st Place at Lorrimore Square for almost 2 years now and we are exceptionally cheerful to have made this choice.

March 2, 2025 at 5:11 amOur daughter has attended from 18 months to four-years-old and has thrived there. The facilities are adequate and the team are outstanding. I have no hesitation in recommending it. Lorrimore Square is an outstanding childcare centre.

March 4, 2025 at 11:14 amTeam are exceptionally dedicated and knowledgable and I sense cheerful leaving her in their expert hands, knowing that she is secure and develops there. Excellent attention to detail, from kids’s behaviours and specificities to food and activities. The best childcare centre our daughter has been attending, she absolutely loves it and so do we.

April 7, 2025 at 5:51 pmOur son enjoys going to childcare centre, we appreciate the kid self-discovering approach. Our son loves playing with his childcare centre friends, enjoys exploring all environments around him, not shy to strange places, we can see the desire for discovering from him which is just incredible and we are truly proud of him.
He is currently homeschooling due to the pandemic but misses his school a lot, we look forward to seeing him playing in childcare centre in the near future.
We cannot thank 1st Place at Lorrimore Square enough for providing such an incredible setting. To maintain a high standard during a difficult 2020 undoubtedly explains it all.

April 17, 2025 at 2:42 amCongratulations to the incredible team as our kid consistently looks cheerful when he goes in and leaves. The food is the main issue and I would suggest improvements for babies under one year old. Our baby started going to Lorrimore’s at 8 months and your menu includes tuna, spices, curry, etc. Curry is not recommended to be given until after 10 months. Fish is recommended to be introduced once the baby has reached its first year due to known allergic reactions. Thanks. The carers at the childcare centre are the best asset you have.

May 2, 2025 at 2:47 pmShe absolutely loves her days there and I sense she has truly grown in self‑assurance and developed excellent social skills since starting. The team are inviting and welcoming and have developed a excellent relationship with my daughter. I consistently sense cheerful and confident leaving her there that she will have a excellent day doing all sorts of messy playtime, with lots of outdoor time etc. She also truly enjoys the food they provide and has become a much less fussy eater since starting here, enjoying meals like fish, curry and lamb stew with vegetables. The team are highly easy to communicate with and consistently make an effort to let me know how my daughter’s day has been when I pick her up. My daughter has been at this childcare centre since April 2019 and I cannot suggest it highly enough.

May 21, 2025 at 3:57 pmI see a excellent improvement in my kid’s speaking and interactions with people and kids and playtime. I adore that there is art incorporated with everyday life objects and overall the safety of how they conduct themselves and the different rooms with dealing with Covid-19.
The only issue I have currently is getting to the childcare centre as Highways have closed off the road to buses and cyclists only even though it’s a highly large road and it adds 24 minutes go and back every day to dropping off my kid. It makes it highly inconvenient for parents travelling from Elephant and Castle, Borough and London Bridge. The childcare centre and the team are incredible.

May 28, 2025 at 7:32 pmOur daughter loves attending this childcare centre, she talks about her friends, educators and the activities she does with lots of joy.
We delight in and appreciate the daily update of our daughter with photos and descriptions of what she did on that particular day.

June 16, 2025 at 9:39 pmOur daughter has been here since 2017 and we are SO pleased with the service. They provide a secure, supportive and stimulating setting. The team are expert, skilled and enjoyable. They take the kids on trips and regularly visit local libraries etc. The food is healthy and well made. The team turnover is low and all the team have a excellent relationship with my kid. I can not suggest this place enough. This is a remarkable childcare centre.

June 20, 2025 at 7:48 amOur daughter started in January 2022 and the team have been beyond excellent. The food they get is healthy and they have a fantastic discovering setting. She is consistently cheerful to go in and we are consistently relaxed knowing she is being well taken care of. We truly adore 1st Place.

June 25, 2025 at 3:34 amWe have seen what a difference attending childcare centre made to her development. She progressed so quickly and is highly curious about the world around her and is a highly sociable baby. She is consistently highly busy during the day, does lots of different activities, explores, eats all the food presented to her. I sense the team at Lorrimore truly care about the kids, the report we get at the end of each day is excellent, the pictures they upload give us a excellent idea of the variety of activities they are doing with the kids. If they have concerns, they will call. They consistently have time for the parents as well which I think is highly important. I am highly satisfied. I leave my daughter in the morning knowing she is in secure hands, with people who genuinely care about her. I highly suggest this childcare centre. My daughter started at 1st Place Lorrimore Square in August 2020, she was just six months.

July 1, 2025 at 11:13 pmThey don’t do any of the Early Years Foundation Stage, that is recommended by the government. Specifically, they do nothing on literacy nor mathematics/numeracy. Team are regularly late, therefore, making me late for things. I’ve had to complain formally about this on 2 occasions. I’m on first-name terms with the manager. Security is lapse, there is a concrete playground out the back where all the kids playtime, this is easily accessible by anyone and leads to the main inside area which is regularly unlocked. Kids playtime climbing up ladders unattended above the concrete playground. They also have a blossom app but it’s rubbish and I never use it. It normally tells me my kid arrived then left. The childcare centre consistently has a faint smell of wee. The only great thing is the Forest School. But team are often late and it’s far from the childcare centre itself. So few kids go. Not cheerful with our kid here but we have no other option.
