September 3, 2024 at 9:43 amThere is a nice garden area and it is set far back from the main road. We are highly pleased so far. The team are fantastic, my little boy has outstanding care and rushes into childcare centre every day so he clearly loves it.

September 5, 2024 at 1:52 amI cannot speak highly enough of the service given. My daughter is given the freedom to learn and explore nature whilst being looked after to a high quality. The food given is tailored to her needs which so highly important. My son attended the summer camp and was taught such incredible skills that could simply not been given at another childcare setting. Highly suggest. My daughter has attended school outdoors since it opened.

September 26, 2024 at 11:24 pmThe childcare centre was highly supportive of first-time parents and made us sense at ease. Our son has flourished in the Montessori setting. They have a broad range of activities for the kids, a excellent outdoor space and a healthy menu with a wide range of foods for the kids to try and develop their taste buds. We received regular updates through a phone application on our son’s daily routine, with the lovely bonus of photo observations. The team are all highly welcoming and supportive. I would thoroughly suggest the childcare centre. Our son has been attending Under the Willow from the age of ten months through to when he was three.

November 19, 2024 at 1:42 pmA commitment to dealing responsibly with allergies. Food cooked on site is basically like home-cooked food. Promotion of independence and a Montessori-lite approach. Light and airy rooms, with outdoor space divided by age range. A link to Forest School locally. Highly recommended. Inviting and attentive team.

December 28, 2024 at 10:31 amThe team have shown excellent levels of diligence and professionalism at all times, from when we first paid a visit through to now, when our daughter has been full-time at the childcare centre for four months. We particularly adore getting updates and photographs of all the activities they get up to. Highly cheerful with everything about Under the Willow.

January 1, 2025 at 10:29 pmShe loves it and is visibly highly cheerful to go in each morning. We have found the team at the childcare centre highly engaged – they clearly have an outstanding knowledge and understanding of each individual kid and their needs and are highly great at communicating with parents about this regularly, both formally and informally. It’s also clear that a lot of thought goes into providing a variety of activities and exercises for the kids, to make childcare centre enjoyable as well as meeting objectives for early years discovering and development. We chose Under The Willow childcare centre partly for the childcare centre setting which is excellent, with a garden and plenty of outdoor space set well back from the road, and indoor areas all on one level. The menus are also great and certainly meet with my daughter’s approval! We’re highly cheerful with our choice, and we’ve now signed up our new baby to start in autumn 2022. My daughter has been at Under The Willow childcare centre for over a year and a half now, having started when she was just over a year old.

January 5, 2025 at 10:22 amDuring our time there, team turnover seemed low, and morale highly high – we were impressed with the management and updates. Food was fantastic (better than at home!), healthy and warming. Her keyworker truly took the time to find what made our daughter tick and there was consistently a cheerful, upbeat energy at drop-off and pick up. We miss it. Our daughter never had a day when she didn’t want to go to childcare centre and we were all so cheerful with our journey with Under The Willow.

January 14, 2025 at 2:58 pmThe team are welcoming, enthusiastic, attentive and provide a lovely setting for the kids to learn, explore and thrive! We particularly liked the incorporation of Forest School trips into the childcare centre week which gives a remarkable opportunity for the kids to be immersed in nature and gain independence. Since attending the childcare centre, our son has grown in self‑assurance and truly enjoys discovering. Every day has a different focus and our son has taken part in baking, football, gardening and yoga. The food menu is healthy and nutritious and is cooked on site by the childcare centre chef. All of the kids sit down to eat together and it is lovely to see them all enjoying their food! We have had a excellent journey with Under the Willow and are highly thankful to the team members who have supported our son over the years in preparing him for primary school. Would highly suggest this childcare centre. Our son started attending the pre-school at Under the Willow Childcare centre when he turned two.

January 25, 2025 at 6:45 pmOur daughter was appropriately stretched and cared for, with excellent activities and lovely team and our son, who has severe special needs, was brilliantly supported. The childcare centre applied for an EHCP on our behalf and the chef cooked special food for his dietary needs. Highly recommended. We had a lovely journey at Under the Willow with both our kids.

January 25, 2025 at 10:43 pmMy daughter was incredibly well taken care of as a baby and now receives bespoke attention from educators as a toddler. The childcare centre (much like a lot of other nurseries) has had some significant shifts in team and management, which has led to brief periods of uncertainty but the childcare centre has righted itself and kids are consistently well taken care of. The food is remarkable (I wouldn’t mind being given lunch boxes from the childcare centre, myself) and the childcare centre uses fresh and varied food so kids are exposed to variety. The childcare centre also offers music classes (excellent music teacher), does baking/cooking and makes short trips to a forest school, nearby, that they have an arrangement with. My daughter is comfortable in her own skin, is confident, and eats well; all of which the childcare centre has certainly contributed to. My daughter has been attending Under the Willow for over two years and she started when she was 8 months old.

January 29, 2025 at 8:47 pmOur daughter attended from 2-4 years old and our son from 1-2 years old. Both kids have thrived at childcare centre. The team are attentive and expert early childhood and Montessori educators. They focus on the development of the ‘whole kid’ and it is clear that it is a cheerful place for both team and kids.
I wouldn’t hesitate to suggest Under The Willow childcare centre. We have been part of the Under the Willow community for the past two years.

February 3, 2025 at 10:07 pmMy only issues are around team churn (too many new people in less than a year), although my kid’s key person has not changed yet. We also sense that the potty training assistance could have been better. The inset days when the whole childcare centre is closed is also an issue for working parents – hoping these will be changed for shorter period of time (couple of hours) across multiple days. Otherwise, great set of activities (sports, baking, music, arts and crafts, sensory playtime), plenty of pictures of the activities (through a mobile app), forest school trips, park trips and even a museum one. There are also plenty of project celebrations and parent events. Overall I’m cheerful with my kid’s education and care.

April 3, 2025 at 12:20 pmI would highly suggest the childcare centre. The team are attentive, patient, hard-working and enthusiastic. They receive and give daily feedback in a consultative way tailoring their approach accordingly. I recently asked what they are doing to ensure the kids will be school ready and I can see a shift in their teaching with my kid since. I have seen some turnover in permanent team over the years which is to be expected. The recruitment happened quickly though with a great brief explanation of the changes and backgrounds of new team who were then introduced successfully with little disruption. There doesn’t appear to be a reliance on agency team or too high a turnover. I have been highly impressed with my kid’s key workers. Each having their own style but each ensuring my kid is developing and discovering new skills. My kid runs into childcare centre each day so I take that as a highly great sign! My 3-year-old son has been at UTW since he was 10 months old and my youngest is about to join.

April 5, 2025 at 10:29 amMy kid’s self‑assurance has grown and he’s excited to go to childcare centre each day.
I’d highly suggest this childcare centre. Fantastic, attentive, attentive team and remarkable facilities, my kid has been exceptionally cheerful at Under the Willow for the past two years.

April 22, 2025 at 9:24 pmAs my oldest had attended from six months, I knew how well he would be cared for and looked after and how he would thrive in such a nurturing setting. My oldest went there till just over two when he transferred to the Outdoor School (which we adore!) and my youngest has now been there for three months and both are loving it. They have helped wean him and even getting him to nap – something that is mission impossible. Importantly, I value the ethos of the childcare centre and the emphasis on discovering through playtime and can see the benefits of this in my eldest kid with his imagination and vocabulary and social skill. Additionally, I value the team there, particularly because of how hard they have worked through the pandemic and the regular updates they provided. This childcare centre has been incredible and I would totally suggest it to anyone. Unlike many parents, I had no worries leaving my five-month-old baby at Under the Willow, even in a pandemic.

May 14, 2025 at 11:48 pmThe building is modern and purpose-built. The outdoor space isn’t huge but they have made truly great use of it, with gardening opportunities and enjoyable playtime equipment and the weekly forest school mornings are also excellent. The team are outstanding and everything about the childcare centre feels well organised, there are lots of activities going on each week – gardening, cooking, music etc. Would definitely suggest it- our kids are truly cheerful there. We’ve been highly cheerful with this childcare centre for our kids – it has a calm, welcoming and enjoyable sense.

May 20, 2025 at 4:36 pmIt never took long for him to settle in even though he was the youngest in his class. The team at UTW are highly supportive and I get a report every day on how he is doing and what we should work on at home. The activities are remarkable and he is allergic to eggs but still manages to bake (without eggs) every Monday and bring his cooking home. Massive thank you to the whole team for looking after our boy. His speech is coming along nicely and he eats every single meal. He now runs inside and looks forward to going every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. My son started at UTW in October at the age of 22 months.

May 29, 2025 at 12:27 amWe found everyone to be exceptionally supportive and accommodating from the outset, allowing us to view the childcare centre on two separate occasions before we signed up. The team are down to earth, expert, consistently smiling and exceptionally approachable. As our baby was quite young when she joined, we felt a bit apprehensive but she absolutely loved it from day 1. In fact, she likes it so much that she brings us her coat and shoes in the morning when she is ‘ready’ to leave. We adore the Montessori approach, especially the promotion of independence, wooden toys, incredible healthy freshly prepared meals and the fact that the kids spend a lot of their time playing outdoors and gardening. Parents are kept well informed about their kid’s development via an app with regular updates and pictures and are encouraged to share observations at home also. We are exceptionally cheerful and cannot suggest this childcare centre highly enough! Our daughter has been attending UTW full time since she was 7 months old.

June 2, 2025 at 1:59 amThe team are consistently highly approachable and attentive to the individual needs of kids and families. The food is freshly cooked on site and is consistently varied to encourage healthy eating, which is also complimented by baking activities. The size of the childcare centre is intimate yet big enough for the kids to have enough other companions to form close and firm friendships. Key educators are chosen for each kid for them to form strong bonds and to encourage them to participate in activities and learn about new topics which sets them up nicely for a school setting once they leave. My eldest daughter (now at school) still tells me what fond memories she has of her time at UTW and enjoys seeing educators and the other kids when we go to pick up my youngest. I have had two kids at Under the Willow childcare centre and have seen it go through many positive changes from turning into a Montessori childcare centre to introducing the Outdoor forest school.

June 6, 2025 at 10:10 amI sent both my kids there. I felt my kids were in a secure and nurturing setting. The owner is highly attentive and understanding. There is also a chef there who makes fresh nutritious meals daily, I highly suggest it. Lovely middle-class childcare centre in Dulwich.
