Sunhill Day Nursery Royston

You get the feeling team do really delight in their job. There are regular updates on activities, both group activities and individually, through the app and weekly newsletter, and the key worker is consistently cheerful to chat at pick up/drop off. Both my girls delight in going to childcare centre so much; they swiftly settled into such a cheerful and attentive setting.

He had gone in leaps and bounds, and his self‑assurance has grown since moving up into the room he’s in now. Getting photos and updates from him almost every day he’s in (sometimes more than one!) It is consistently an absolute highlight and gives me such an insight into his day. The team are exceptional at keeping the app up to date, which is so supportive, and we are absolutely gutted to be leaving this term! My son absolutely loves coming into childcare centre and is consistently cheerful to walk into his room in the morning and has such a bond with his keyworker.

He seems to delight in himself and is consistently cheerful to see his key person in the room when I drop him off. The team are cheerful to give feedback on his day when I pick him up and is quick to contact me if there is ever an issue.
My only comment would be whether the portions of food are enough, as I do find myself having to give breakfast before and a snack after I’ve collected him, otherwise, he is extremely hungry. On the whole, very cheerful with the childcare centre and the care they provide our little boy.

The team in her room are lovely, and she smiles whenever she sees them. Her development has moved on a lot since she has been there, and I can see how much so loves playing with the team and other kids. She also loves the food! The manager is also lovely and so understanding of any concerns or questions. My daughter started the childcare centre at six months and has settled in really well.

The team are all fantastic and truly care. Management is efficient, and updates is very clear.
Meals are varied and nutritious.
The outdoor space is lovely and well-utilised.
Well-structured days and the kids learn and have enjoyable. Sunhill is lovely.

The setting is lovely, there are many toys and activities to choose from, plus there is outside space for the kids to playtime. The team are excellent with my little boy and provide lots of discovering and development opportunities for him. I highly suggest this childcare centre. Very cheerful overall.

We receive comms during the day with his activities, and we can see his discovering on a daily basis.
The team is remarkable, loving and attentive. They made it comfortable for me to go back to work. One lady was so incredible with my baby and made me sense reassured everything was ok. Thank you!

We’re very cheerful with Sunhill and definitely suggest it. My baby is super cheerful there and consistently comes back home calm and content.

The team are very passionate, and I really appreciate the use of the app. The only thing for improvement is the fact that we need to keep taking days off work due to short of team in the childcare centre. Overall, the journey has been great so far.

The app doesn’t get updated as much as I would like, and I’m unsure of how much actual discovering goes on, sense like the kids are just left to their own devices to playtime with the toys in the room rather than structured playtime and educational activities.
My daughter is also very hungry when I collect her and I am told she consistently has 2 helpings so assuming the portion sizes are not adequate. All in all, sense secure dropping my daughter there. Overall cheerful with the care my daughter receives at the childcare centre.

Updates was poor and it felt like we got blamed when something went wrong in their system, especially around financial matters, which were often muddled and disorganised. We felt on several occasions that the service manager was rude to us for no reason.
Our kid’s keyworker was particularly great and probably kept us at Sunhill longer than we’d have otherwise stayed. The other room team were often great too, so it was not all awful.
We were keen for our kid to be in a setting without screens, as was the case at Sunhill when we signed up. At some point, with no discussion, a very large tablet/TV appeared in the rooms and the kids now spend a lot of time playing on it and getting it to read them stories, rather than human interaction. Since we left Sunhill we have found a much more welcoming and efficiently run childcare centre in Royston. We get excellent daily updates and updates. Our issues at Sunhill stem from dealing with the management, which was consistently difficult.
