Bright Horizons Poppetts Day Nursery & Out of School Club

Our eldest has attended the childcare centre since 2017 when she was 11 months old. She is now 4.5 years old and the team at Poppetts have been a huge part of her development. The team are fantastic and their passion for kids is evident. Both of our kids have eaten a huge variety of foods since being at childcare centre versus being at home! The procedures during the pandemic have been very thorough and parents have been kept well informed at all stages. Thank you Poppetts, you’ve turned childcare into a huge positive! I cannot suggest Poppetts highly enough.

Both our kids have attended this remarkable childcare centre with our youngest currently still there and our eldest having been there for over 3 years prior, who now uses the breakfast and after school club provision they have on-site. The girls are remarkable and are so compassionate and attentive. They are genuinely interested in their development and will consistently take the time to discuss anything with you. We are impressed by the breadth of discovering and enjoyable playtime activities and there is lots of garden and outside playtime too. The home-cooked food offering is delicious and of outstanding quality. The managers and front desk are consistently on hand to help and reassure, we have also been extremely grateful for all they have done over recent months to keep everyone secure. We really couldn’t ask for a better place to care for our babies! We adore Poppetts Day Childcare centre & Out of School Club.

The key differentiation for this childcare centre is consistency, stability and reliability. Importantly team turnover is extremely low so the same keyworkers have looked after both our kids during the last four years. The first time you leave a kid at childcare centre it’s really hard but when I saw how cheerful they came home and how well their social skills were developing I was left with no doubt we had done the right thing for our kids. The home-cooked food is also a huge added bonus, I think they eat better at childcare centre than at home. Would definitely suggest. We have been using the childcare centre since 2017, four to five days per week for each kid.

The team that we have met consistently seem cheerful and attentive. Each week, we get a number of pieces of work to take home that show what the kids have all been doing e.g. painting, sticking, baking. We receive a weekly observation report with photos and developments, which is consistently nice to get. Our daughter consistently seems cheerful to be at childcare centre and eats all her meals, so the chef is doing an outstanding job! Keep up the great work. I will suggest Poppetts Day Childcare centre & Out of School Club to others because the childcare centre team are compassionate, the rooms/outdoor spaces are of great size and the location is just a short 10 minutes walk to Shenfield train station. Our daughter is currently in Peapods.

My kids adore the childcare centre and look forward to going there each week. My kids have developed their education so much since starting there and their self‑assurance has grown greatly. Poppetts day childcare centre is a excellent childcare centre, the team go above and beyond to make sure your kids are well looked after and the parents are cheerful with the decision they are making.

More importantly, our son has been very cheerful and settled since he first started the childcare centre three and a half years ago, our daughter too, who attended from 2013-2016. The food is prepared onsite and is fresh, healthy and varied. The app also provides observations, photos and details of what he’s eaten during the day. The childcare centre manager is consistently very quick at responding to queries and is very supportive. More recently, proactively reaching out to offer specific development assistance for our son, which is hugely appreciated. Our son loves the garden and the variety of activities on offer. He consistently comes home with lots of stories from the day and loves showing us all the things that he’s made. We have been very cheerful with Poppetts Childcare centre and would highly suggest it to others.

The first was for our convenience, to travel to work, and was not at a great enough standard. The second was a busy and great childcare centre but they could not accommodate keyworker kids during the first lockdown. I asked Poppetts as it was highly recommended by a friend. They were supportive from the very start and were able to keep my son on afterwards, on our request. In summary, the facilities are excellent, the team are competent, welcoming, easy to talk to, open to thinking with us about our son’s care, he loves it and has really bonded well with several of the team. They celebrate culturally diverse events. I sense completely comfortable and trusting that they are giving my son the best care (I don’t leave him anywhere else). He learns a lot, educationally, emotionally and with his boundaries. The team keep us updated. Most importantly, unlike other nurseries, all the team here seem smart and on the job for more than the money! Thank you! Poppetts in Shenfield is the third childcare centre our son has attended.

She consistently comes home cheerful and I receive regular feedback about how her day has been. The team in her room go above and beyond and the management team are easy to talk to about anything. My daughter has attended Poppetts for the past year and both the team team and management have been incredible.

From the outset, he has loved attending and consistently seems cheerful and comfortable with the people and surroundings. The childcare centre is spacious, spotless and well run. The team are courteous and attentive as well as very expert at looking after the kids and communicating with parents. The organisation and response to Covid-19 have been impressive and instils self‑assurance that the kids are being cared for in a secure and cheerful setting. Everything is taken care of including wholesome cooking. The main factor to mention is the team who all seem dedicated to the kids and in particular, our son’s key workers since he joined the childcare centre. They have been outstanding at looking after him and forming a excellent bond which is really lovely to see. We had heard great things about Poppetts prior to our son attending and our hopes and expectations of the childcare centre have been exceeded.

All the team have a genuine interest and care for the kids that attend, this includes the cook, management and most importantly the room team. They really get to know the kid and consistently have time to discuss development and matters. I have seen my little one gain so much more self‑assurance, social skills and knowledge from his time at Poppetts. The setting including the outside space is often ‘changed up’ to add variety and new discovering challenges for the kids. They put on events to explore and celebrate a diverse range of special days/events. My little one’s favourite bit is the garden. The food is also another strength: being healthy, varied and tasty. I am consistently so grateful for the hard work and dedication the team put in to ensure my kid has an enjoyable and purposeful time at childcare centre. I have been thoroughly impressed with the dedication and professionalism of the team at Poppetts Childcare centre since my little one has attended from the age of 2 years old.
