June 18, 2018 at 12:00 amI called early to pick up my grandchild and was stunned by the behaviour of the class: the carers had total control, total respect from the class, which had obviously been earnt by engaging with them, not disciplining them. If only all day care nurseries were like this!!

September 5, 2018 at 12:00 amIt is clear that the child is at the centre of everything they do. I have observed staff being very friendly and welcoming to parents and carers and it is evident they have a passion for working with children and it is clear to see there is a lot of positive interaction with the children. R has additional needs the staff have allowed her to develop at her own pace but also encouraging R to achieve the next step in her learning. A member of staff attended all professional meetings that were held to ensure that they were informed of R development and needs. The key worker for R always spoke with the parent of R at the end of each session informing them of what R had been doing during the session in the Nursery.
I have many years of working in an early years setting and I can identify the excellent practice that is happening in this Nursery and in my opinion this Nursery is outstanding in everything that they do. Big 10 out of 10 for this Nursery

December 5, 2018 at 12:00 amMy son has been going to Jemima House Day Nursery for three months. He only attends one day a week and has been going since he was 11 months old. The first few weeks he took a bit of time to settle but the nursery girls have all been amazing with him and worked hard to help him settle. Every day they give you detailed feedback of their day and are so efficient at getting back to any queries you have. Every member of staff remembers every child’s name and always greet us at the start of the day – very welcoming. Their care is exceptional and I never worry about my son whilst he is in their care. Very happy with them – would definitely recommend.

November 21, 2019 at 12:00 amMy child attended this preschool for roughly a year, during this time there were a number of staff changes. Our child was assigned a key worker who on the collection and drop off, clearly didn’t want to interact with me and would leave it for other colleagues to do, which didn’t give a great impression as we were new to the preschool. I raised concern due to the lack of developmental updates I had received for my child, I understand there should be on average 2/3 per week (My relative manages a preschool) I received updates monthly, the observations were not true to my child’s ability “downgrading”. Shortly after this, my child received a negative observation. When discussing the incident with my child asking what happened I was informed of another child’s name this raised more concerns to me as the timing was very convenient. My child would say to me they didn’t want to go to preschool every day that he/she attended. Having the open-plan rooms meant that is was noisy and chaotic.

There is nothing I could complain about. The staff is wonderful and caring, the setting is clean and organised, the food is good and most importantly, the children are happy.

January 14, 2020 at 12:00 amAll the staff are friendly and lovely, my daughter loves going to the nursery, we are always welcomed and patient with the little ones.
The facilities are very good and always kept clean, the standards are at the highest and all staff are very professional.
Also, mixing with all different ages is a great opportunity for them to learn and engage in complex play routines.
However the most important aspect for us is the education and development aspect, our little one has changed so much in the last year since she has been at the nursery and we are very happy with her progression.
We look forward to our second child joining the nursery in due course.

January 14, 2020 at 12:00 amMy daughter has been attending Jemima House for four months now. Having only previously attended a preschool for one day per week from 9 am – 3 pm, I was concerned that the day at nursery would feel particularly long for her, however, she is kept stimulated by the interesting range of activities offered throughout the day and the care and attention of staff, especially her key worker. My daughter is always happy and chatty at pick up time and I receive a detailed summary of her day from staff, which is lovely to hear. We have started receiving a fantastic weekly newsletter. The nursery held some special family events over the Christmas period. The children spend plenty of time outdoors which is brilliant. The safety of the children is a key priority. Thank you to the dedicated team for caring and nurturing my daughter.

May 4, 2021 at 12:00 amThis nursery is in a beautiful bright airy setting and the childcare practitioners are attentive and give a full explanation of all the days activities, learning progress and eating routines of our daughter. Communication from staff and the manager have been brilliant and their willingness to assist on changed hours and flexibly work with us as parents is really brilliant. Lovely approach to learning provided by the care practitioners, where they allow development through both child led and adult led learning and play. Knowing your child is safe and happy are essential and Jemima House Day Nursery certainly go above and beyond to provide this care.

May 25, 2021 at 12:00 amMy daughter started Jemima House Day Nursery in Alconbury Weald when she was two years old. She loves it so much there! The staff are lovely and always go above and beyond to meet the child’s needs. Highly recommend.

Starting during covid and lockdown I was worried how he would settle with other people after not really having chance to interact with anyone else outside our household. He settled in straight away, and now just toddles in when I drop him off and doesn’t look back! All the girls that have worked with him are amazing, and he always leaves with a massive smile on his face!

The staff are always so knowledgeable about all aspects of the children’s day and provide a thorough handover each day. The staff are always friendly, welcoming and professional and I always feel so reassured knowing the children are in safe hands. I really believe the children will always have fond memories of their time at Jemima House.

May 25, 2021 at 12:00 amThe team have been fantastic with my son. He had previously been at another local nursery where he remained unsettled and they struggled to manage his behavior. This has not been an issue in this setting and he loves to go to nursery now. Going in happily and leaving in a good mood. The photos shared of his activities are a really good indicator of his day and his development has come on considerably in the few months he has attended.

June 11, 2021 at 12:00 amBoth of our children attend Jemima House; one since he was 6 months old who is now preparing to go to school, and the other since he was 9 months. Both absolutely love spending time at the nursery and always come out to greet me at the end of the day smiling and chatting about the various activities they have participated in. All the staff are friendly and welcoming. I always feel able to ask questions and with the help of the app and daily feedback, I feel like I fully understand what my children have been doing each day. I feel my children are receiving the best possible care every day and I couldn’t ask for anything more.

June 27, 2023 at 12:00 amWe adore Jemima House and all the wonderful staff! They are caring, kind and build genuine relationships with the children. My child talks about them all the time, and really benefits from the range of activities they do, the open play environment and lovely outdoor space. They do lots of themed activities and I cannot fault the quality of any of the care, equipment or planning.
