Jemima House Day Nursery

If only all day care nurseries were like this!! I called early to pick up my grandchild and was stunned by the behaviour of the class: the carers had total control, total respect from the class, which had obviously been earnt by engaging with them, not disciplining them.

I have observed team being very welcoming and welcoming to parents and carers and it is evident they have a passion for working with kids and it is clear to see there is a lot of positive interaction with the kids. R has additional needs the team have allowed her to develop at her own pace but also encouraging R to achieve the next step in her discovering. A member of team attended all expert meetings that were held to ensure that they were informed of R development and needs. The key worker for R consistently spoke with the parent of R at the end of each session informing them of what R had been doing during the session in the Nursery.
I have many years of working in an early years setting and I can identify the outstanding practice that is happening in this Nursery and in my opinion this Nursery is outstanding in everything that they do. Big 10 out of 10 for this Nursery It is clear that the kid is at the centre of everything they do.

If only we’d have known about the quality of service beforehand we most certainly would have had our daughter attend much earlier. My daughter is much happier at the childcare centre and it’s been a positive change forced by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Our kid was assigned a key worker who on the collection and drop off, clearly didn’t want to interact with me and would leave it for other colleagues to do, which didn’t give a excellent impression as we were new to the preschool. I raised concern due to the lack of developmental updates I had received for my kid, I understand there should be on average 2/3 per week (My relative manages a preschool) I received updates monthly, the observations were not true to my kid’s ability “downgrading”. Shortly after this, my kid received a negative observation. When discussing the incident with my kid asking what happened I was informed of another kid’s name this raised more concerns to me as the timing was very convenient. My kid would say to me they didn’t want to go to preschool every day that he/she attended. Having the open-plan rooms meant that is was noisy and chaotic. My kid attended this preschool for roughly a year, during this time there were a number of team changes.

Jemima House have been incredible this past year.
They assistance us all and care for the kids so much.
We get plenty of updates and the team are outstanding.
I adore the updates at the end of the day and it’s clear they do their best every day.

Having only previously attended a preschool for one day per week from 9 am – 3 pm, I was concerned that the day at childcare centre would sense particularly long for her, however, she is kept stimulated by the interesting range of activities offered throughout the day and the care and attention of team, especially her key worker. My daughter is consistently cheerful and chatty at pick up time and I receive a detailed summary of her day from team, which is lovely to hear. We have started receiving a remarkable weekly newsletter. The childcare centre held some special family events over the Christmas period. The kids spend plenty of time outdoors which is exceptional. The safety of the kids is a key priority. Thank you to the dedicated team for attentive and nurturing my daughter. My daughter has been attending Jemima House for four months now.

Communication from team and the manager have been exceptional and their willingness to assist on changed hours and flexibly work with us as parents is really exceptional. Lovely approach to discovering provided by the care practitioners, where they allow development through both kid led and adult led discovering and playtime. Knowing your kid is secure and cheerful are essential and Jemima House Day Nursery certainly go above and beyond to provide this care. This childcare centre is in a beautiful bright airy setting and the childcare practitioners are attentive and give a full explanation of all the days activities, discovering development and eating routines of our daughter.

My two girls absolutely adore coming here and I never have any tears from them when I drop them off. They delight in the food and the outdoor playtime area. They consistently have a enjoyable day and never say they don’t want to go. Staff are lovely and welcoming.

She loves it so much there! The team are lovely and consistently go above and beyond to meet the kid’s needs. Highly suggest. My daughter started Jemima House Day Nursery in Alconbury Weald when she was two years old.

I was nervous about my daughter going to childcare centre, but they quickly put my mind at ease. The team are consistently so attentive and have the kids’s best interests at heart.
