First Steps Day Nursery

First steps prepared him for school which made the transition easy for him. The team are very compassionate and expert, consistently there to give any information or answer questions have. I sense very satisfied and cheerful bringing both of my kids to this childcare centre. I leave consistently satisfied and without worry, as I know my kids will be well taken care of while they’re with the team at the childcare centre. I’m thankful that I chose this childcare centre for my kids. My little boy was at First Steps for a year and developed so much.

Our boy is compassionate, attentive and enjoys playing with his friends. Our kid is able to journey an array of different activities and at the same time learn through playtime. They have a excellent outdoor area with all sorts of different activities to give all kids the chance to journey everything. We are delighted that our kid has had a excellent first few years at First Steps and has a excellent foundation read to start school. We cannot thank all of the team enough for their time and effort they put in with our kid. You can see they really care about their development and above all want all kids to delight in their time at First Steps. Our boy has been going to First Steps since he was one and I cannot suggest them enough.

She absolutely loves going to childcare centre and talks about the team all the time, she even asks to go to their homes. My daughter can be quite shy and the girls at First Steps are consistently so reassuring and encouraging. I consistently suggest First Steps to parents looking for childcare. They have handled the pandemic amazingly and have kept us up to date with how they are managing the guidelines. I have total trust in them with my daughter and would highly suggest them time and time again. My daughter has been going to First Steps since she was 12 months old and has moved from the baby room to the toddler room and now little steps and each room has been just perfect for her.

She runs in every morning without even looking back, regular updates on the discovering journal through the week gives you the reassurance that a mother needs that she’s cheerful and loving her time. I was nervous about putting her into childcare centre and having “strangers” look after my baby at such a young age but I am so glad I found First Steps, they have been incredible. The setting is spotless, the team are incredible, the outside areas are excellent and everything is supplied (food, nappies, wipes) which is a bonus when trying to get both of us ready for 7am every morning. I, without a doubt, would highly suggest to everyone. My little girl absolutely loves her time at First Steps, she started during the pandemic and they have all been nothing but incredible.

My eldest had the most fantastic start and was so prepared for starting school. My little one loves coming to childcare centre and consistently comes home full of excitement about what they have been doing. Great observations and updates by the team. Our son has attended from a baby through to leaving for school. If you want swanky facilities and tech then it probably isn’t for you, but what it offers is outstanding team (with excellent continuity), a nurturing family atmosphere and lots of outdoor time in the local countryside. It’s all about personal relationships at First Steps and every day for 3 years we got meaningful firsthand feedback from team on how our son had spent his day and we consistently knew that he was loved whilst there. We would thoroughly suggest First Steps to all.

I was very nervous about little one starting childcare centre let alone during the middle of a pandemic. From the very first visit with the team and discovering about the childcare centre ways made us sense so at ease. Settling in days were tearful to start with which we understood. It only took a couple of weeks for little one to settle in and the team were excellent the whole time. She has become such a confident little girl now and loves all the activities they do; every day she comes home she’s so excited and tells me what she’s been doing. The daily report charts are excellent too to see how much she’s eaten and how long they’ve had their naps. It’s such a relief knowing while we are working that she is being looked after with such excellent care and the team they are consistently cheerful and smiling. Nursery have been remarkable.

She moved up from the toddler room to little steps to now big steps. She has loved every minute of being there and was over the moon when I said she would be going back to childcare centre after this virus has passed. All the team are fantastic! But especially the managers are supportive and reply back to emails as soon as they can. Overall, a excellent childcare centre, and I am cheerful to leave my daughter there and sense like I don’t have to worry. My daughter attends the childcare centre and has done ever since she was three.

My daughter is now 11 and I really believe her start in life at this childcare centre and preschool added to how exceptional she is. My now 4-year-old is currently there and is so cheerful going 4 days a week. The childcare centre offers something very special to a kid’s life and I for one, cannot suggest the team here more. Thank you First Steps, take a bow. My kids have both attended this preschool and I don’t know what I would have done without the help and assistance of the incredible team there.

The team have created a secure and cheerful setting for the kids with access to a fantastic garden.

My son is five and still goes to the school club, and my daughter is one and currently in the baby room. My kids both adore First Steps and all the team; the team from the management to the nurses are so incredible, and I trust them wholeheartedly to look after my babies. Would highly suggest. He has been there since September and settled in so quickly, in no small part due to how warm and affectionate all of the team are. Every time we drop him off and pick him up it’s so apparent they really engage with the kids on an individual level, and it’s lovely to hear what he has been up to during the day (and reassuring to know that they pick up on the same learnings, behaviours and quirks that we do at home!) Our whole journey with First Steps has been during the pandemic and they have handled it incredibly well, communicating with us throughout and keeping us updated. I still sense like we’ve managed to get to know the team despite all of the restrictions. We would happily suggest First Steps to anyone looking for a reassuringly attentive childcare centre setting for their kid. Staff go above and beyond to assistance us as working parents and their flexibility is so appreciated. We are so thrilled with the quality of care our little boy gets at First Steps.

I cannot fault the team at all. They have all been like an extension of our family to him. Nurturing and building his self‑assurance. More recently our second son has started in the baby room and settled so well we couldn’t be happier. The childcare centre has such a fantastic country location and outdoor space a big factor for our original choice! Our eldest kid is about to leave after four cheerful years here.

Especially in light of Covid, they have really shown their professionalism, dedication and care for everyone that is involved with the First Steps family.
I would highly suggest them to anyone looking for a team of compassionate superheroes! My daughter has been attending for the last year and she has loved every minute of it.

Both my boys have attended and loved it. With its rural setting, the kids get to go out on walks and visit the local park, as well as a whole host of craft and educational activities. My oldest is now 11 and I sense it’s a real credit to the childcare centre that some of the original team are still there now with my youngest 8 years later! The team are all very welcoming and well loved by the kids. There are routines in place and the kids seem to thrive because of this. It’s a big thumbs up from me. What a lovely little childcare centre First Steps Maxey is.

The team are consistently compassionate, compassionate and enjoyable! We loved that they got them outside for village walks. She misses First Steps now she’s at school! We have so many keepsakes that she came home with that she had made at the childcare centre. Our daughter loved her time at First Steps.

After viewing 4 nurseries, some being within walking distance from our home, I found First Steps at Maxey (18-mile round trip)
On our first visit, I knew within seconds this was where she would come. The team are lovely and welcoming, the kids are cheerful, the food variations are excellent, the setting at the end of the lane is remarkable. I particularly adore when they get them all wrapped up for a walk in the fresh air down the lane. She loves to tell me about the animals they have seen that day. I was worried with her being so young that she may not get cuddles (I had heard some nurseries don’t allow this) but I was very wrong, there’s plenty to go around. The day sheet you receive daily telling me what she’s been up to is excellent also. A fab childcare centre where the team delight in being there and don’t see it as a means to pay the bills, they genuinely care about the kids. Having to return to work when my daughter was 9months old, the thought of putting her into a childcare centre filled me with anxiety.

I highly suggest First Steps and all the team, their assistance and adore for what they do is incredible, we looked at a few nurseries and found this one to be a cut above the rest. It’s welcoming, homely and everything I’d want for my son growing up. The range of activities they do with the kids inside and outside keeps little ones occupied for hours. Their daily sheets help us see what they have been up to, eaten and slept which is very supportive. During the current climate, the girls are still so upbeat and cheerful and my kid loves it there. We have recently moved out of the area but still choose to drive the extra 30-mile round trip to take him every day before work as I couldn’t imagine him anywhere else. So, a massive thank you to you all for helping Baby learn and grow, you’re doing an incredible job keep up the great work. My son has been attending First Steps since he was 3 months old, I had to return back to work shortly after having him and was very nervous about leaving him.
