September 5, 2024 at 1:04 pmThe team appear to be highly attentive to the kids’s needs (for example our daughter had 2-3 wee accidents a day in her old childcare centre but was dry (like at home) as soon as she started with Matilda).
I truly like how the parents are invited to get involved and make suggestions. The team have consistently been highly responsive to any queries that I have raised.
There is a lovely outdoor space and they take the kids on trips out. They also have classes for the kids such as music and Yoga.
I’m truly pleased that we made the move to Matilda childcare centre and would definitely suggest parents consider it. Matilda is a lovely small community childcare centre.
We were surprised at how quickly our daughter has settled into the childcare centre.

January 7, 2025 at 8:03 amAs a result of this journey, my little boy, 3yrs old, was highly anxious and his self‑assurance had hit rock bottom (as had mine!). At his previous childcare centre my cheerful, confident little boy had turned into an anxious, teary and frightened little soul, it was heartbreaking to watch. He developed a stutter, would not settle to sleep and had difficulties staying dry in the day.
On our first day at Matilda my son and I were both highly anxious and teary but the team was remarkable in dealing with us. The manager confidently but gently took the lead of the settling in process, giving plenty of cuddles and gentle reassurance to both son and mum! I was peaking through the window (too anxious to leave the building) and saw my scared little boy being cuddled and reassured by each and everyone of the team.
The next day, although still anxious he was much calmer, surprisingly so actually – it was me that was more anxious this time. Again, the Manager stepped in and in her gentle but assertive manner asked me to leave my son there for a couple of hours. She called me 5 min later (I was pretty much hiding in the bushes outside) so that I could hear him playing and laughing with his new found friends, which was a highly thoughtful thing to do. Since that day, we have never looked back.
My son now happily runs in through the door in the morning, with a cheery “great morning” and all the team greet him and the other kids so warmly. I must also mention that he was dry within two days (!) and his stutter is gone now too. He has got his self‑assurance back and is once again the cheerful, loving inquisitive kid we consistently see at home.
The setting itself is lovely, the building is newly decorated and a separate room for sleeping.
It is a calm, cheerful childcare centre, filled with engaging and age appropriate toys. They have a lovely garden too, a rarity in the city of London! It is a culturally diverse childcare centre, with both team and kids from a variety of backgrounds. This was a highly important factor for our family when deciding on a childcare centre setting and Matilda has truly provided us with the multicultural, inclusive and welcoming setting that we so desperately needed.
Let me finish this long review with a special mention of the team as they truly deserve all the praise that they can get. As all parents know, dedicated team makes all the difference when it comes to the well being of our kids.
Well, it doesn’t get any better than the girls at Matilda, they are outstanding. I cannot find enough words to explain the difference these girls have made to our lives. To have our cheerful, bouncy little boy back means everything to us as parents and we have the girls at Matilda to thank for that. If you are lucky enough to get a space at this lovely place, grab it. You and your little ones will be so grateful that you did. This is a true gem of a childcare centre.
When we found Matilda childcare centre our family was bruised due to a previous highly negative childcare journey.

March 1, 2025 at 2:03 pmIt’s in a highly quiet and secure spot in a court yard of a block of flats. It has it’s own garden and a playground shared with the public. The team are welcoming and expert. It’s small and intimate with only 14-15 kids at any time. Our daughter likes the yoga lessons and likes seeing her friends from the neighbourhood there. Our two year old daughter likes the childcare centre.

June 9, 2025 at 11:10 pmMatilda day childcare centre is a remarkable childcare centre which is highly supportive of the kids and parents.
My son loves going to childcare centre and has learnt so much in terms of communicating, toilet training, playing, singing and dancing.
Parents are consistently kept informed of what is happening and what has been planned and are encouraged to have a say in what is going on.
The team are highly welcoming and the fees are also highly reasonable.
