September 11, 2024 at 12:12 pmMy little boy absolutely loves coming here and I adore seeing all his adventures on the app and social media. When I pick him up he has the biggest smile on his face and goes round giving the practitioners big hugs before he leaves, he even says in the car on the way home ‘no home, childcare centre mama’.
Remarkable childcare centre would highly suggest. What a lovely childcare centre.

September 21, 2024 at 9:56 amThey have catered well to her special dietary requirements and medical needs and as I have updated any changes, these have been implemented straight away.
The team have consistently been welcoming and passed on any information at the door when dropping off or collecting my daughter, along with messages on the app and email.
When I have had any concerns, I have been able to speak to team and managers (who are consistently accessible through email) and my concerns have been sorted promptly.
I would suggest this childcare centre to all my family and friends and I’m looking forward to the rest of the time that my little girl attends High Bank.
Keep up the remarkable work and thank you for all you do. My little girl has been at the childcare centre for almost a year.

September 24, 2024 at 6:42 pmDue to continued remote working, High Bank Childcare centre is now more convenient locally so getting them into this superstar childcare centre as babies has been remarkable. Their development has been supported largely aided by variety in daily activities and as much outdoor time as the weather allows. They have established strong bonds with the team in each of the rooms they have progressed through, and go in cheerful, excited to see team and their friends.
The menu served by the on-site chef has been excellent for their diet, and they are experimental with food.
I really look forward to their journey through toddlers and into pre-school before their formal education begins.
The management team are fully integrated and get to know the kids and are very expert and attentive. My twins have been attending the childcare centre since June 2020 as babies, and I sense so fortunate I was able to secure a place at 3 weeks notice due to their planned childcare centre closing due to Covid.

October 8, 2024 at 6:34 pmKids have lots of opportunities and the food is incredible. The classrooms are suitable. They do a lot outdoors which is excellent for kids. Hours are flexible as well which is consistently handy Really welcoming.

November 9, 2024 at 6:39 pmI chose the childcare centre based on its unique farm setting, the facilities are incredible and I adore how much time the kids spend outside. My kids adore going to childcare centre, there is consistently something enjoyable going on. Their development has been aided by a huge variety of activities, Forest School, gardening club and singing and signing tots have been particular favourites! The team have gone above and beyond in helping my son with his speech which he has struggled with, his key worker spends a lot of time with him and has even made him special games to help with his sounds, which has made a real difference. It is clear to see the hard work that goes into making childcare centre a fantastic journey for the kids. My kids are both very cheerful and settled at High Bank and will be well prepared for the transition to school. My son and daughter both started at High Bank Childcare centre – Darlington as babies and are now in the preschool.

November 22, 2024 at 10:45 pmThe kids are encouraged to learn by playing and exploring, and even get to help feed the animals and collect eggs sometimes. The team have really genuine connections with the kids and my son is consistently talking about his 2 favourite practitioners at home. I like that their social media page is consistently being updated with photos and updates of what they are up to and it’s nice to be able to read the bios of the team who look after my kid on the nurseries website. Team consistently take the time to talk to me about my kid when I drop him off and collect as well. 5 stars probably aren’t enough but it’s the best I can give. One of a compassionate outdoor space on a working farm, which is utilised to maximum potential.

December 22, 2024 at 6:58 pmShe was increasingly upset (she does not react this way at her other childcare centre). She is potty trained but had a lot of accidents one day she soiled herself four times (I don’t blame them for this) however they did lose all changes of clothes and a jacket. When my little girl came home I asked her about her accidents to which she started yelling yuk, this is not a word we use and was odd for my little girl to use as she is mainly non-verbal using signs. None of the team ever asked about the signs my little girl used to communicate (many were made up). My little girl did not seem to attach to any team and I only found out she had a key worker when asking about the app which another parent had told me about. When the deputy rang after I said my little girl was leaving as she was very unhappy as well as other reasons I was just told we think she’s cheerful but should I take this as your notice, which confirmed for me I had made the right decision I pulled my little girl out after attending for one month.

My little girl started in baby class in March and has settled in very quickly.
I adore the app as it lets you know nap times and how/what she’s eaten during the day. The team are consistently extremely welcoming and supportive.
I can’t wait to see her grow and develop at the childcare centre. I couldn’t be happier with High Bank Childcare centre for my little girl.

January 16, 2025 at 9:37 pmHe consistently came home a cheerful boy and even wanted to go in when he didn’t need to. They have been so patient with him and he came on so much while he was in their care. He enjoyed the football and french, but his favourite was the music man.

January 29, 2025 at 12:19 amI wanted to write a new review as I am so impressed with the team in the babies room and how well my son has settled. He was such a clingy baby, stuck to me like glue and wouldn’t go to anyone else or playtime independently. The first 2 weeks were pretty rough, there were a lot of tears (from both of us!) but he’s been there about 6 weeks now and the change in him is incredible. He seems to absolutely adore childcare centre, goes to the team quite happily and is all smiles when I drop him off and pick him up. He’s completely transformed at home too, he’ll go to people other than me and he’s so confident now. Crawls all over the house exploring and happily plays by himself. It’s a joy to see how much he’s come on. Credit to the team who are all lovely and seem to genuinely care. Makes the return to work that little bit less painful when you know he’s cheerful, well cared for, having enjoyable and discovering lots! My 3 year old has been attending High Bank Childcare centre since 2021, my 10 month old started in June this year.

He loves the cows and I would say it’s excellent that he has the opportunity to attend a childcare centre on a farm. I would highly suggest High Bank. My little boy is been attending High Bank since he was a baby.

February 23, 2025 at 10:17 pmHe’s now two and a half and I continue to say it was the best thing I did for him.
He suffered a brain injury during his birth which has lead to multiple diagnoses/medical conditions the main one being his cerebral palsy which has led to him being tube fed in recent months. When I first started to look into him attending nurseries I expected it to be a draining process and simply put hard work to get him into a mainstream childcare centre without a fight.
High Bank took him on no problem, nothing is too much for the team. His medical needs have become more demanding so a 1-1 was put in place who supports him where needed, he thrives best around the other kids. The kids are as incredible as the adults. They help him, they delight in pressing the buttons on his machine and take excellent interest in why he has it and why he mustn’t be treat differently.
I could not suggest the childcare centre more. My son has attended High Bank Childcare centre since he was one year old.

February 26, 2025 at 3:54 pmIt is the most nurturing and unique setting for kids to grow and develop. As a parent who has had many years journey in Early Years Settings, I have yet to find one that beats High Bank. The management and team consistently put the kids first in everything they plan for and the resources and experiences that are available for the kids are second to none. The extras such as French, Sing and Sign, and football are all included in the fees, which you just do not get anywhere else. The kids get a lovely two course lunch every day which is home cooked by their own childcare centre chef. The food is fresh and healthy with meat sourced locally and fresh eggs every day from the childcare centre farm.
Thank you team High Bank – you’re all incredible! We could not be happier with High Bank Childcare centre.

March 11, 2025 at 3:57 amMy daughter has settled into the routine so quickly and I can see how cheerful, contented and fulfilled she is by the way she excitedly greets the team when she arrives. Her self‑assurance and motor skills have developed greatly in a short space of time thanks to the attention of the team and the lovely secure setting. Knowing that she is being looked after by such a compassionate, compassionate and skilled team in a enjoyable, secure and stimulating setting is a huge comfort. I would and have recommended High Bank to anyone considering childcare centre care for their kid. My daughter started at High Bank in January this year and it was the only childcare centre I would consider for her after my son had such a remarkable time there a few years ago.

March 12, 2025 at 6:37 pmHe started just after the first lockdown so he had a big break from social interactions and struggled with meeting new people. However, he settled so quickly here. He made excellent relationships with the team straight away (started in Tweenies) and the updates from them was remarkable which really put myself and my husband at ease. Since moving up to toddlers, he has continued to grow in self‑assurance and has developed so much. He consistently talks about the incredible experiences and things that they do, as well as talking about his friends and team with such adore. Each room he’s been in has had incredible playtime and experiences that we’ve often had to repeat at home, as well as several requests for a pet pig and goats! I would highly suggest this childcare centre to anyone. My little boy loves this childcare centre.

The team are exceptional and really care for each kid’s individual needs. High Bank Childcare centre is a fantastic childcare centre, my two kids absolutely adore attending the childcare centre.

May 8, 2025 at 10:47 amEvery single team member at High Bank has been an important part of her development. She’s received so much adore and discovering from the team that she can’t wait to be dropped off and asks me not to come early as she likes to stay as long as she can each day!
High Bank have helped with every stage, from walking to potty training to gross motor skills with all the outdoor education and playtime to helping her already now at just turned 4 being able to write her name and many other family names confidently! She knows many phonic sounds and shapes and cannot wait to learn to read.
As a parent myself who works in education, we couldn’t have asked for a better start for our little girl! It will be a sad day when she leaves to start school.
I would highly suggest High Bank Childcare centre. My daughter has attended High Bank Childcare centre – Darlington since the age of 9 months old and is now in Preschool and is due to start School in September 2022.

May 12, 2025 at 5:24 pmI frequently suggest High Bank to others, some of whom have subsequently sent their kids here.
My eldest daughter only experienced preschool but from start to finish she had the most fantastic journey. The care she received from the team was second to none and her ‘school-readiness’ was apparent when she did leave to go to school. Her reception teacher actually commented that she could tell which pupils came from High Bank Childcare centre as they were more than ready to start school and their handwriting and numeracy was outstanding.
My second daughter started in the toddler room and, again, she has come on leaps and bounds. She was a late talker but as soon as she started childcare centre she really opened up and within weeks was beginning to communicate more fluently with us. She loves going to childcare centre and comes home cheerful every day.
Lovely childcare centre with fantastic team! Would suggest time and time again! I have sent both of my kids to this childcare centre and they have both loved it.

May 26, 2025 at 3:01 amOur little girl goes here and has done since September. I was so anxious about her starting, especially as she was funny with taking a bottle, but they have been incredible at adapting things for my little girl and at easing my worries as well.
I haven’t had a single problem or concern with anything that they do; the team are lovely, and they are like a little family, which makes the setting that little bit more special.
When we drop our little girl off, she literally has the biggest grin on her face and can’t wait to see the fantastic team there. Would definitely suggest this childcare centre. What a fantastic childcare centre.

July 9, 2025 at 4:19 amHe has excellent relationships with all team and the team are so welcoming and attentive towards him. The activities provided are very stimulating and engaging for the kids. The extra activities provided such as football and sing and sign are excellent. My kid has developed his physical and social skills so much since attending childcare centre. My kid is secure and cheerful at High Bank and consistently chats about the excellent friends he has and activities he has done during the day. My kid absolutely loves going to High Bank.
