September 2, 2024 at 5:37 pmThe transition between different rooms and key workers is really well handled, and we get lots of updates and pictures via the app so we can see what they’ve been up to every day. Fantastic childcare centre, the team are incredible, consistently lots going on for the kids.

The educators, and especially his key person, did a excellent job helping him settle in and get comfortable. They showed a willingness to work with me on any concerns I shared. The variety of activities, the resources available to my kid, the attentive manner of the team and the overall administration of the place were all excellent. My kid had a excellent time after he got comfortable and familiar with the routine. He particularly enjoyed the outdoor activities including building, water playtime and the mud kitchen. He also enjoyed the loft area and books at the childcare centre. The lovely “graduation ceremony” was a excellent journey and a memorable day for our family. Thanks to all the lovely ladies who take care of my kid and showed him adore and care while focusing on his discovering and growth. My son attended the childcare centre from September 2021 to August 2022.

September 19, 2024 at 9:29 amThe orientation and transition was made as smooth as possible for her and she settled in very quickly. All team were excellent, very welcoming and flexible. Our daughter particularly enjoyed the daily art and outdoor activities. My daughter attended Durham University Day Childcare centre for four weeks while we were on an extended work trip.

September 27, 2024 at 8:54 pmShe spoke really fondly of all the team and made excellent friends. In the mornings, she would wake excited to go to childcare centre and run in to see everyone. The team at the childcare centre make it really special. We consistently felt they genuinely cared about our daughter and our daughter clearly felt really cheerful in their care. The different activities and events, including, for example, football time and Mother’s Day celebrations, are excellent. It will be difficult to find another childcare centre like this one and we will miss it! My daughter attended the childcare centre from 9 months, until two and a half years, and she loved her time there.

January 21, 2025 at 1:27 amOur kids (1 and 4) both adore going to childcare centre, and we sense that the team are an important part of our extended family and assistance network. All of the team, including those working on reception and in the kitchen, know the kids and create a positive atmosphere. The kids journey many activities that we wouldn’t have the time or space (or capability!) to do at home, and we adore to see their adventures on the secure online system. From incubating chicks and hatching butterflies to baking and picnics, and a recent trip to the theatre, there is consistently something going on. We adore the outdoor space and the fact that they playtime out all weathers. Our use of cloth nappies and reusable wipes has been embraced with ease. The team are open and responsive, so we sense respected and involved as parents. We would definitely suggest the childcare centre to others. We have used the childcare centre since 2019.

Both our girls have consistently been very cheerful to go to childcare centre in the morning and have lots of enjoyable and lots of cuddles while they are there. The activities proposed to the kids are excellent and represent an age-appropriate challenge to promote their development and independence. I adore and look forward to each parent event, which is an opportunity to share the childcare centre enjoyable with your kid. We are very satisfied with this provider and we would suggest it to any other parents who are looking for a inviting and stimulating setting for their little ones. Our eldest daughter attended Durham University Day Childcare centre since she was about 9 months old until she started school in September and her younger sister is currently following in her footsteps at the childcare centre.

May 17, 2025 at 6:26 pmThe team are extremely dedicated and passionate and have been fantastic all the way through, and they have formed outstanding relationships with our kids. The childcare centre has provided a nurturing and loving setting in which our kids have truly thrived and (Covid permitting) they regularly organise events that involve parents. Our daughters have consistently been enthusiastic to attend and transitions between rooms have been handled very smoothly. Updates with the childcare centre has been outstanding throughout (both in person and through the online diary) and we have consistently had a chance to have a chat with the welcoming team at handover. Overall, we’ve had an outstanding journey and would highly suggest the childcare centre to anyone. Our daughter has attended this childcare centre since she was 11 months old and has just left to go to school (our younger daughter is still attending).

June 1, 2025 at 1:51 amAs a city, Durham has lots of compassionate and lovely people… but the Durham University Day Childcare centre surely has the warmest and most lovely people in all of Durham. The most important thing to us was that our kids were received with adore when we drop them off in the morning and the carers really made us sense so comfortable leaving our kids in their care. We had regular feedback (both informally every few weeks, and formally every 3-6 months or so) to discuss how our kids were developing physically, emotionally, and educationally. They use a journal so you also get a sneak peek (photos+video) of what your kid gets up to during the day! Also, several events that involve parents.
Although my kids only attended this childcare centre (so I can’t speak for other nurseries nearby), my mother was a childcare centre carer in Australia and when she visited me, she mentioned that we were lucky to find such a special childcare centre like this. Both of our kids attended the childcare centre from about 9 months to 4 years.
