Chestnut Nursery School @ John Perry

This nursery is a happy, fun and safe environment where children are learning every day in a fun way. The staff are lovely and polite and care for the children well, they also make sure you know how your child has been and also what they have eaten that day.

My son has been attending this nursery for over a year now and I am so pleased with the staff and the environment, every day the nursery looks clean and inviting.
My son has learned so much and is non stop talking, his key worker has taught him so much and we are really happy with the care given at John Perry!

My daughter started the nursery in January 2020 and graduated in July 2021. In that period of time, the staff have supported her learning and growth in herself. Throughout the pandemic, they made her feel safe and comfortable coming into nursery. She has learnt so much and absolutely adored each and every staff member. I appreciate what the staff at Chestnuts Nursery School @ John Perry have achieved with my daughter. I am grateful for the staff and wish each and every one of them the best of luck!

Very nice place, I love the variety of activities they have, children are very happy. The most important for me is their big and spacious playground where children can go and do all kind of sports and activities.

Very flexible in question of food and allow my child to have his own food from home.

Great nursery. My son and daughter have enjoyed their time here. The staff are friendly and caring and you can see they take an interest in the children. My children were always happy and excited to attend. They do lots of fun and educational activities.

I really like the nursery and how well my child has settled in. He is always happy to go and seems to be developing really well.
I think communication to and from the nursery is generally good but can be improved by an update of the app. It is not updated consistently. The app isn’t great because it only provides the bare minimum (meals and nappy changes) when updated by staff. The learning outcomes are always received very late. This is a huge disadvantage as I have no idea what my child gets up to at nursery. There is never any mention of activities that happen each week. In approximately 6 months, he has only come home with artwork on two occasions.
It would be great if there was mention of activities my kid enjoys. I’m not sure if there are any parent’s evenings either.
Due to the lack of regular updates, issues with the app, and very minimal mention of activities, I would say it isn’t great value for money. But my son enjoys it, and the staff are great.

Very informative and it’s comforting to see close bonds between my children and their staff members. I have a high level of trust for my children to be in their care and all my recommendations for my children’s care have always been respected and implemented. Overall the nursery and its staff are amazing and I cannot fault them especially when it comes to my children’s safety and their upkeep.

My daughter has been attending Chestnut Nursery School for over two years now, the improvement we have seen in her is unbelievable, she was initially really shy and very reserved but since joining Chestnut she has flourished so much in her confidence. She loves all the teachers, they are all so friendly and really caring. I cannot fault this daycare. Absolutely amazing.

Chestnut Nursery School @John Perry is a fantastic place for children to develop their independence, confidence and curiosity.
My son has been attending the nursery since he was 1 year old and thanks to the support, care and staff dedication he achieved many milestones in his development. The nursery nurses are always very helpful, approachable and comparative. They have helped me to overcome the difficulties with sleeping routine and potty training my son had. I highly recommend Chestnut Nursery as a great place for children to start their learning journey.

Unfortunately, an incident happened at the nursery where my son reported that the head of the toddler room dragged him by his hood and he fell and put him on a timer. He was upset about it. I addressed it with the manager who said she would investigate. She then came back and said she investigated and it didn’t happen but there was no way she could have known this so they basically called my son a liar. I escalated to another manager who said the same thing. I sent him back as I had work and had no choice but they promised to at least change his key worker. The manager said to him when he wouldn’t say bye – why don’t you speak now, you had a lot to say to mummy at home. He came home really upset the next day saying his key worker is not speaking to him which I found to be really unprofessional and sad that she would take ignore him as he doesn’t understand why his key worker had been changed. Removed him immediately as the staff was just unprofessional in how they handled the whole situation.

My child loves John Perry Chestnut Nursery. He went with pleasure and met a lot of friends. The food is healthy, my child is a fussy eater but ate in nursery. The staff are nice and helpful, provide support, with advice during children’s development.
