Bright Horizons Hedge End Day Nursery and Preschool

All of the staff always greet us with a smile and warm welcome. They each make a big effort to get to know each child and family. They are genuinely interested in and care for the children. It’s much appreciated for a busy parent that they are skilled at noticing what each child needs to feel comfortable when parents are leaving. They respond quickly and sensitively and even follow up with calls to let us know our children are ok if they have been upset when we left them. They give open and honest feedback and staff are always willing to listen to our views and respond by adapting to the feedback.

The return to nursery following national lockdown was an anxious time for everyone, and like most children my son had been away from the setting for almost 4 months. I was concerned how he was going to be, not only going back, moving up into the next room but also going into a room when he only knew one of the keyworkers from his old room. However my worries were quickly eased, he wondered in after a bit of a wobble at the door and was greeted with open arms and a reassuring hug. He had a wonderful day and has continued to do so ever since. Joining the nursery was the best thing for our son and has come on leaps and bounds in his development. All the staff are warm and friendly and the children, my son included, loves them.

Very happy and pleased with Bright Horizons Hedge End. My daughter has thrived at the nursery. Staff are always friendly and it’s great to see what she’s doing through tapestry. Love that she’s taken out for walks around the local area and that she is able to spend lots of time in the garden which is her favourite activity.

Our son has been attending in Babies Room for 6 months now. He is our first baby so we weren’t sure what to expect but the staff were excellent guiding us through the process and making sure we were comfortable and happy with lots of settling in days. The nursery use an app which is consistently updated throughout the day with eating, sleeping, activities and nappy changing information which is really reassuring to check during the day and I feel he is really safe and cared for. I feel the nursery have great safeguarding standards and management are always quick to update parents via the app when needed. The children’s food is prepared fresh on site so he always has a variety of healthy things to eat during the day and they take them outside to play as much as possible so they get lots of fresh air and exercise. My son’s confidence and social skills have gone from strength to strength since starting and we are looking forward to the next exciting phase moving up to Toddlers Room!

Both of our children have attended this Nursery and really enjoyed it. The staff are lovely and really help make a great day for the little ones. The new app is a great feature too as it’s a lot more user-friendly than the old Tapestry app.

Absolutely amazing Preschool nursery. Our daughter has been very happy there from day one. All members of staff are extremely professional and friendly. But my special thanks to two members of staff. They are making my daughter feel welcome and comfortable every single day. I have never seen her upset or disappointed after school. They make her smile and learn new stuff through playing.

We couldn’t be happier with Bright Horizons Hedge End Day Nursery and Preschool the staff are very caring and supportive. They are flexible to my son’s needs. The current manager is excellent, very helpful and responsive to messages/contact. The key workers in the baby room are lovely, my son loves them and loves going to nursery.

I’m happy with the safe environment and incredibly friendly and lovely staff. My son usually enjoys him time there.
I’m usually informed of his progress and lots of photos of all his learning over the time he is there.
Also pleased with the mixture of sensory play among other great activities they have done.

Both my girls have been here since my return to work a year and six months respectively.
My eldest was like a duck to water and has always been so incredibly settled and happy here. Everyone is so kind and accommodating. Shout out to a staff member who settled my first!
My second struggled more, but the team at Bright Horizons have been so patient, her key worker has essentially adopted her and is like her nursery mum. So now, my youngest is excited to go and I get the happiest kids at the end of the day.
The communication has improved loads over the last six months so I now have such a clear picture of their experience the days they go.
Recently had our first feedback meeting about their milestones and areas currently being worked on. Gave me an opportunity to give feedback and things I’m trying to improve.
They have been helpful with changing dietary restrictions.
When my kids leave will be a really sad day. Cannot recommend enough!

The nursery staff are understanding and compassionate. They are very good with the kids, and the number ratio per staff is manageable, where your child is taken care of and able to form close affectionate bonds. It’s safe and secure. My child adapted quickly and they made the transition easy by settling into sessions. It’s a shame they do not offer much flexibility but have options of half-day, full-day, weekly, half weekly enrolment for structure and stability for the children.
