Bright Horizons Ampfield Day Nursery and Preschool

After visiting one I was disappointed but then we visited Ampfield and my faith was restored. Colleagues and friends took their kids her and to other Yellow Dot nurseries so we were confident in our impression. Our eldest started in babies aged one and is turning three. His baby brother will be staring soon. We adore receiving updates during the day of what he has been up to. At times we’ve seen daily photos but recently they have been sporadic. Only some creations come home so we adore seeing him do a variety of activities. One downside is the parking at peak times can be difficult as everyone drives at these times it is otherwise difficult to fault the site.
The team have been supportive of our son throughout frequent bouts of glue ear, from giving medication to designing plans to develop his speech. Many team members have helped him get to a vocabulary of hundreds of words and start creating sentences. The team know the kids even if they don’t work with them. Our son loves the freeflow between the inside and outside spaces. We selected Yellow Dot Ampfield after reviewing online information about full time Great and Outstanding nurseries around Winchester.

He thrives when he’s there and has learnt so much since being there. He eats different foods at childcare centre, which before attending he would not eat at home. Ampfield is a really great childcare centre.

From the start, the team have been fabulous in supporting her to settle into childcare centre life, build her language, give her important social skills and give her some lovely experiences. She has built such a strong bond with her key person as well as the other team in the room and often talks about them at home. She has also built great relationships with the other kids and is consistently excited to go. She was a baby born in the height of the pandemic, so she had never left myself or her mum so she had no journey if separation. The team were incredible, we did short trials and then built them up and supported her through every step. I cannot thank them enough! My daughter started in April 2020 at 9 months in the Under 2’s room and is due to move to the next room soon.

She is cheerful, settled and seems to be thriving in the baby room! The team are so welcoming and consistently there to help with any questions or concerns and our daughter has created some really lovely bonds with a few members. We sense very lucky that she is able to attend this childcare centre! Our daughter has now been attending Bright Horizons Ampfield for 1.5 months and we couldn’t be happier with her development.

For any mum, especially a first-time mum, sending your daughter to childcare centre can be daunting. The team at Ampfield have been exceptional!
We had settling in days, taking as many as needed to sense comfortable, peeped for her first full day, meeting the team and other kids. The team stuck to her daily routine, which was excellent. Any problems or changes, they have called and made us aware straight away, nothing is too much for them. We get regular updates through the app with things she has done throughout the week, along with regular development updates. Thank you to the manager and two other members of team, in particular, and all the team who look after our little girl. Exceptional childcare centre, with the loveliest team. Thanks. We were concerned about the lack of contact after her return from lockdown and app or assessments, however once the management changed it was addressed quickly. One member of team in particular has been incredible with our daughter and clearly knows her well through her detailed reports. We were very sad to hear she has now left but hopefully her great work will continue. Unfortunately our daughter is a fussy eater and there is one particular day where she does not like any of the options and because of the change in the menu, it means that every third week she will have this. It would be nice if they could go beyond the childcare centre more such as into the woods, which hopefully they will do in the summer months. We adore receiving the app updates and reports to see what she is up to but sense the assessments of the objectives are not consistently accurate as she has never been ‘‘secure’ in anything since she has started the childcare centre. Our daughter really enjoys childcare centre and is cheerful to come.

My son has been attending for two months and has settled in really quickly. All the childcare centre team were very welcoming and ensured he was settled into his childcare centre room. We are kept well informed on his development and day-to-day activities, which is a excellent reassurance. My son consistently has a smile on his face at the start and end of the day so we know he’s cheerful there. No day seems the same at Bright Horizons, which is excellent for my son’s discovering and development. The childcare centre isn’t too big, so it feels like a big family. I would highly suggest Bright Horizons, Ampfield.

The team immediately put me at ease though and in the 18 months he’s now been there it’s exceptional to see how much they’ve helped him develop. Every day he has a excellent range of enjoyable and creative activities to get stuck into, really great food to fill him up, and the team are consistently welcoming, attentive and expert. What really made Ampfield stand out to me is its nature childcare centre which I know he’ll adore playing in when he’s older, whatever the weather. I’d highly suggest this childcare centre to other parents. I was a typical anxious mum when I first dropped my son off at the childcare centre when he was only 8 months old.

The welcome was incredible and he settled straight away. He goes to the ‘nature childcare centre’ they offer, which is an incredible addition to this childcare centre. Spending all day outside with a team that are so enthusiastic, his day is engaging, busy, and enjoyable. The self‑assurance he has gained has been beyond our expectations. He also can’t wait to go back, referring to it as his ‘forest school adventures’. A excellent team and fantastic experiences on offer. My kid has recently been attending Bright Horizons Ampfield Day Childcare centre.

She has absolutely loved her time at the childcare centre, building some really strong relationships with the team who have been so supportive and attentive and taking the time to get to know her so well. She will really miss childcare centre. As parents, we have been impressed with the current management team and have consistently felt confident sending our daughter in knowing she is cheerful, having enjoyable and is well looked after. Our daughter has been at Bright Horizons Ampfield Childcare centre since she was 10 months old and has just left for school!
