Apples & Pears Private Day Nursery

She was quite shy and not very confident in new situations but she has settled amazingly at Apples & Pears Private Day Nursery and is continuing to grow in self‑assurance, the team are incredible with her, it’s such a welcoming, relaxed setting and I can see the development my daughter has made since being there. I haven’t had any issues with the childcare centre, I’ve consistently been cheerful with the service they provide but I know if I did have a problem all the team are approachable. I would suggest Apples & Pears to anyone looking for childcare. I used this childcare centre for my now 9-year-old who excelled whilst there, so when it came to my next kid needing childcare we couldn’t think of a better place to send her.

She is cared for attentively by the childcare centre educators and they clearly know a lot about her and are all very nurturing. The creative playtime is consistently imaginative and the discovering through songs such as ‘what is the weather today?’ is clearly working.
Things we would like to see more of include:
More frequent exercise classes as the current classes have had a really positive impact on the kids.
More updates on the app as they appear to have slowed down and reduced in 2022.
More consistency with potty training as some days it seems our kid hasn’t been put on the potty very much when we are really trying to crack it.
End-of-day feedback is generic and quick due to pickup collections being busy so perhaps the end-of-day profile could give more info?
Car park overcrowding on the mid-week days is becoming dangerous. My kid absolutely loves attending your childcare centre and that is the most important thing to us – watching her walk in with self‑assurance and excitement.

He’d been upset going to his previous childcare centre and cried regularly about not wanting to go and was very shy. On just the walk round he was encouraged and nurtured to come out of his shell and before we left was running around playing with the childcare centre manager and laughing with her. We got in the car and he said “thank you for bringing me to this childcare centre mummy” and that’s when I knew Apples & Pears was the one for us. Since then he has thrived and gone from refusing potty training to choosing to go independently at childcare centre; from crying every day to walking in and forgetting to say bye to us; from hating childcare centre to telling me “I adore this childcare centre”. We couldn’t be happier with Apples & Pears!
We get regular updates on his development, he gets to see animals every day and is constantly outside having a fabulous time. They do lots of varied activities and the facilities are remarkable. We moved our son to Apples & Pears Private Day Nursery when we moved house to the area.

She has had a remarkable start to her childcare centre journey which has been down to a remarkable key worker and all of the team in the Polly Pears team. The whole journey for both us and our daughter has been massively positive and we have a very cheerful little girl arriving at and leaving the childcare centre, she is full of beans! There has been a huge shift in her development, we have noticed her coming on in leaps and bounds since joining and the team celebrate every milestone with you. The quality, variety and outcomes of activities are excellent and we adore the regular updates via the app. We appreciate how every member of team greets you and how they are interested in you and your family, even if they don’t directly look after your kid. There is a true sense of togetherness! Our daughter joined Apples & Pears Private Day Nursery in January of this year and we have been overwhelmed by the standard of care and provision at the setting.

The team are outstanding, very attentive, capable, welcoming, consistently thinking of new ideas to keep the kids entertained and exploring new things. We adore the outdoor setting and the opportunities the kids have to delight in the surroundings as much as possible. Extremely cheerful with our choice of Apples & Pears after three years of care for our kids.

We have found the childcare centre to be very accommodating in offering ad-hoc sessions but still treating our daughter as a regular attendee. The new building is fantastic and the outside space and setting are what attracted us to the childcare centre. Our daughter has loved attending Andy Apples and now Peaches 1.

She started at 12 months old. I was so nervous about leaving her however my nerves were soon put to ease. The women in sandy strawberries are excellent. Her key worker made it extra easier for me and my daughter, consistently updating the app and making sure my daughter was okay. The first few drop-offs were hard but soon my daughter was putting her hands out to the team, which made me so cheerful. She absolutely loves going to childcare centre. My baby girl had never been left with anyone until she had to go to childcare centre.

The team are all so lovely and welcoming. My son seems to adore it and they are consistently doing lots of activities which is excellent. After looking at lots of different nurseries, I’m so glad I found Apples & Pears Private Day Nursery after it was recommended to me by two others.

The childcare centre team sense like an extension of our own family, as it is very clear that they consistently have the kids at the heart of everything they do. During the past very challenging year, the childcare centre have had to make some very difficult decisions regarding the care of the kids, but have been remarkable in communicating to parents and providing constant assistance for the kids throughout. Staff have consistently kept their high standards of education for the kids and specifically have helped the kids understand the importance of hygiene. They have carefully and sensitively helped the kids understand the changes in the world around them, underpinning everything with enjoyable! As a parent, I have been so impressed by the team at this childcare centre; they have been absolutely fantastic in these unprecedented times. My son attends Peaches Preschool currently, and we’ve been so fortunate that he has enjoyed the past couple of years at Apples & Pears.

Few minor issues that have consistently been sorted. I would like to see more on the app though. I would definitely suggest it through great experiences. Always doing a range of activities which is consistently exceptional. The management are consistently supportive and the reception team are consistently very welcoming and welcoming. Overall great childcare centre.
