The candidates require SVQ 3 in childhood practice/social services children and young people or early education and/or have an SVQ4 or BA in Childhood Practice or Children and Young People.
The successful candidate will be in charge of a team of practitioners, you will lead the team to create outstanding and stimulating experiences for the children within the frame work of early years criteria set by the local authority and the care inspectorate.
Successful applicants will be required to work with children aged 0-5, implementing creative and learning activities, always ensuring safety and wellbeing of children within the nursery.
- Be a reliable member of a team and work with flexibility.
- Work with an ethos of respect and professionalism with colleagues, stake holders and service users.
- Understand that each child is an individual and have a sound knowledge of childcare and child development.
- Have responsibility to uphold and adhere to SSSC codes of conduct.
- Take responsibility for each child’s progress, report on achievements and complete child development profiles on a weekly basis.
- Develop positive relationships with parents/guardians, other staff, and outside agencies.
- To ensure that the environments are inviting and resourced efficiently.
- Be responsible for maintaining a stimulating and attractive nursery environment.
- Be aware and act upon children’s individual needs and requirements.
- Develop and deliver age and stage appropriate experiences that will progress children’s learning.
- Ensure that all practice is inclusive to all the children attending Pilrig Nursery.
- Ensure you are a reflective practitioner to further evolve the practice you display
