It was a excellent place for my kid to grow and develop. We’ve received regular reviews and felt confident in teacher’s abilities.
We’ve loved sustainability, healthy meals, and playtime schema at childcare centre.
The most important thing – our kid loved going to childcare centre every single day! Excellent childcare centre for my kid.

October 30, 2024 at 9:57 pmBeing a first time Mum, the whole idea of leaving my daughter to go to work was really daunting and scary but the whole team made the situation sense so relaxed, comfortable, easy and really positive. They understood my worries and still to this day, do everything they can to make me sense at ease adjusting to leaving her at childcare centre. Every day I collect her, she seems really cheerful and content being there and I believe she consistently has enjoyable while she’s there and I think the experiences she has with discovering and playtime have really helped her grow in leaps and bounds. The team constantly create enjoyable and different activities for the kids to do, I look forward to seeing everything she gets up to at childcare centre on the Discovering Log Book Journal online. I highly suggest this childcare centre! My daughter is currently 1 and has been attending twice a week for full day sessions since she was 9-months-old.

November 4, 2024 at 2:22 pmThe team turnover has increased and a lot of the more experienced team have left. There are now only 2 members of the team which are welcoming, inviting, attentive towards my son.
What once used to be a welcoming and welcoming setting now seems cold and hostile and the team seem unhappy.
My son’s speech was very slow starting and showed little to no improvement whilst at Tops, During lockdown, I was forced to put him in a different childcare centre and in 4 months the difference was unbelievable.
Since Sept 2019 when I received my first bill from Tops up until today I have never received a correct bill, every single month they overcharge me and it takes many many emails to get the issues sorted and instead of being apologetic it is although I am being difficult and receive a lot of hostility from the childcare centre manager. Although this childcare centre used to be a remarkable setting when it was run under the previous management, since the takeover by Tops Day Nurseries I have encountered nothing but problems.

November 8, 2024 at 12:50 amWe already recommended it to our friends and we are extremely cheerful that our baby girl is attending this childcare centre. The team are so welcoming. Our baby girl was a lockdown baby and didn’t get the chance to spend much time with other people so she was quite upset when she first started. The lovely ladies consistently were so reassuring with us and did their best to make our daughter sense secure and cared about. They consistently give her cuddles and reassurance that she is in the best hands when mummy or daddy is not there. We are over the moon with Copnor Tops Day Childcare centre and we plan to keep our baby girl here as long as possible. We couldn’t be happier with Tops day childcare centre, Copnor.

November 13, 2024 at 5:34 amI can’t fault it, keyworkers and the manager are so attentive and compassionate! Very attentive to specific needs. My girls loved all the activities and no one day was ever boring. I would highly suggest it and use it again, if needed! My girls are now at school and miss everyone at Tops very much! I believe my girls both had the most fantastic days here as part of their early years. Both my girls attended Tops childcare centre in Copnor!

The team are consistently so welcoming and welcoming, the room is consistently spotlessly spotless and the food consistently smells incredible! Our son has settled in really well and has made a excellent connection with a certain team member which is lovely. We adore the fact it is such a small and family like childcare centre as it seems to make all of the kids so much happier and sense at home. I wish there was a little more outdoor space as our boy loves the outdoors but space can’t be helped. Remarkable childcare centre and incredible team.

February 26, 2025 at 12:52 amAfter a few months, and the most patient and lovely childcare centre team ever, my very loud and clingy daughter couldn’t be happier to go to childcare centre. They offer a excellent variety of activities, games and discovering tools and are excellent about keeping the parents appraised of their kids days. I also adore the wide variety of meals and snacks provided for the kids, consistently taking into consideration any allergies or intolerance. Everyone there is fantastic with the kids and have an unending supply of patience. Highly suggest! I can’t suggest First Steps highly enough.

I would like to see more time spent outside in the garden as this doesn’t seem to happen very often, but overall, a very nice childcare centre. Our son enjoys attending childcare centre, has enjoyable with his friends and there is a lot of imaginative playtime involved.

My kid settled very well because the team were loving and attentive towards her. One of the best nurseries my kid has attended.

His keyworkers in the previous 2 rooms were outstanding at keeping us up to date with his development, having recently moved to the preschool room, I hope to establish a similar rapport with his new keyworker. Welcoming and accommodating childcare centre, our son has attended for 2 years so far and he has come along beautifully thanks to the care and dedication of his keyworkers and the team.

My daughters two main childcare centre educators are so attentive, welcoming and thoughtful. It’s consistently heartwarming to know she is being cared for amazingly whilst I’m at work. Thank you Tops Copnor. Ever since my daughter started here, they have gone over and above to make her sense comfortable.

The team are stellar (very welcoming, firm, fair) and they really go out of their way for all of the kids. All of their food is fresh, healthy, cooked on-site and actually tastes incredible – I have tried it for myself! I cannot rate First Steps @ Roko, Portsmouth enough. My daughter has attended First Steps @ Roko, Portsmouth since she was 18 months old – she is now 4 and has progressed so much, in all areas of her development, during this time.

Resources – sustainable and interesting. Excellent for development.
Admin – responsive and timely.
Updates – could improve. Difficult to have a rushed/public conversation at the door with kids present.
Cost – reasonable. Team deserve a decent wage for their hard work. Team – outstanding, attentive and attentive.
Use of parents’ app – minimal (nappies and arrival/leave time) for my kid.

May 16, 2025 at 6:04 pmThe atmosphere is consistently calm and relaxed and we are consistently welcomed with a smile. My daughter has consistently enjoyed her time at this childcare centre and I have been very impressed by the level effort that is given to the quality of the activities and interaction this is provided. Most impressed. The team at First Steps have proved themselves consistently over the past 18 months to be very focused and attentive to my daughter’s requirements.

May 18, 2025 at 1:54 amHe enjoys a wide variety of activities, games and discovering through playtime (he especially likes anything that gets him really messy!). The team are attentive, attentive and go above and beyond to help the kids they are working with – our son needs some help with language development and his key worker has excelled herself by providing extra resources for us to use at home. The menus are healthy and encourage tasting a wide range of flavours – he consistently comes home well fed!
We have recommended to a friend whose daughter now attends and our own daughter will be joining once my maternity leave ends. Nothing but great things to say about First Steps @ Roko Portsmouth! We absolutely adore this childcare centre and so does our son.

June 7, 2025 at 10:51 pmCheese was written on her day sheet as a meal she was given, although the team assured me she wasn’t.
Why was it written there? The reason for management being marked as Satisfactory and not higher is every month we are having to chase the invoice, this should be sent automatically.
Food and drink again marked as Satisfactory as my daughter has a cow milk protein allergy and all she seems to be given for breakfast is dry hoops.
There doesn’t seem to be any variety in the breakfast meal.
All other meals are great.
